How to post a gif

So um I have been on this forum for a half a year and still don't know how to post a gif correctly on here. So, how do you post a gif on the forum?

Maybe there is a simpler way but this worked for me
Upload gif to imgur
Let it play on imgur and rightclick on the playing video gif and choose : copy video link in menu (depending on browser) ignore all the imgur links on the right side.
On this site use the usual yellow insert image icon on top and paste that imgur video link but change/erase only the last three extention letters at the end from that imgur link to gif again before posting.
[edit: seems you don't have to change that mp4 extention back to gif anymore]
(seems to be the same for giphycom rightclick copy image link etc.)

Find a gif you want to use . Right click. Open image in new tab. Copy that link. Enter the url into without the http.






The bolded part is the trick.
