Another movie I remember seeing as a kid, would love to see it again...on Blu ray.

Anyone else seen this movie?

I grew up with this film as well. It certainly isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. William Friedkin didn't even mention the film in his autobiography and Chevy Chase has denounced it in interviews. I'd buy a blu-ray if it were released, but I'm not confident that it will be.

I really want to see this. It can't be that bad. As the poster above me says, Friedkin didn't even mention it in his book, which I find strange. Even if it was a giant flop, not mentioning it at all seems strange. He didn't mentiuon The Guardian either.

Funnily enough I never saw Deal of the Century. Its the only Friedkin film I've never seen and must admit I've been curious about it. It went straight to video in my neck of the woods so I've got no excuses for never seeing it.

If you are looking to buy it in HD, you can get it via Vudu’s Disc To Digital program. You have to scan the barcode of the DVD and then you will get an option to purchase the HDX (HD) version for $4.99. It will then port to Movies Anywhere in HD giving you two options to watch it in HD (Vudu or Movies Anywhere). I believe this is the only way to buy the digital HD version.

Just released on BD this week in Spain but it all ready is not available or out of stock.

I think so it might also be the reason why Rampage isn't releasing on 4K Blu ray till this year and also being released by Kino Lorber. Or not it might just be the studios not willing to release them on Blu Ray from companies such as Kino Lorber. Been waiting on both of these films so Rampage first and Deal of the Century after that. And probably Jade but Jade isn't a very good film so I probably won't buy that one.

I pre-ordered the Spanish bootleg, and am hard-pressed to work out if it's upscaled from the DVD or from and HDTV master.

It's perfectly decent, but obviously not the highest of HD.

Not a great film, far from Chevy's best film but it's not terrible and has a few great moments. I would buy a blu-ray!
