USA Fright Night Part 2 (1988) 4K UHD (Red Shirt Pictures/Synapse)

More news as this story develops...

Announced tonight by Michael Felsher via Facebook livestream.

A few morsels of information from the livestream:

Fright Night Part 2 and Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II will definitely be 4K UHD. The other announced titles are to be determined.

Will be getting "The Trick or Treat treatment," meaning a deluxe edition.

Just finalized two days ago. Will be the last of the announced titles released.

Elements may not be there to do a CD soundtrack.

They've got the original negative. Felsher says, "Tommy Lee Wallace is on board. The original producer is on board. I've even spoken with Tom Holland, he's going to contribute to the documentary, talk about not only... not so much this movie but all the Fright Night sequels that didn't happen, that could've happened"

Michael Felsher also says, "another good thing about announcing these things kinda early is that, uh, people came come out of the woodwork and say 'I heard you working on this I have this rare thing from the movie.'" So he is encouraging everyone to reach out to him if you have anything and to be persistent and remind him since he has a lot going on. And he ain't kidding.

Amazing news, absolutely day one! The vampire roller skate attack is still one of the creepiest sequences I’ve ever seen.

OMG THANK YOU Red Shirt and Synapse! Dreams come true! All 4 Day 1!

Do they mean Prom Night (1980) on 4K too? I wonder if we'll get a box set?!?!

I think you'd dig the second film. It's not really a sequel in any way to the first.

Holy Sh..

I will still hold onto my German Blu-ray which will eventually be worth nothing, but I am super stoked for this and Prom Night 2.

Omg, I thought I was in the Prom Night 2 thread. No, Fright Night part 2 is definitely a sequel and again a good one that I think you'll like. Check out both Hello Mary Lou and FN2.

Has to be up there as annoucement of the year. FN II, PN II and even 976 Evil II are constantly requested.

See what I mean about fresh to Blu/4K stuff? So much more exciting than Blu re-releases or upgrades of already solid discs.

Nice work, Red Shirt Pictures/Synapse!

If you don't have the patience to wait for the releases, Fright Night 2 is free on YouTube and Prom Night 2 is on Tubi.

If you like the first Fright Night, you’ll like Part 2. I honestly hadn’t seen it in at least twenty years and could barely remember it before my brother shared a bootleg he had a year ago and I was amazed just how great it was. The first is my favorite horror movie of all time though, so your mileage may vary.
