Saw this last night with the better half. Paired it with Presence for a double feature, but Companion totally owned the night. Great performances from Thatcher and Quaid. Quite happy to see it's getting a 4K.

Day one purchase. Not exactly expecting it to be a showcase for the format after seeing at a PRIME theater but glad it’s getting a 4K regardless. Very fun little horror flick.

I wish we could see how many pennies all this pinching is getting them. Surely all these measures are saving them enough to release Coyote vs. Acme.

I also just realized that the Warner steelbook for North By Northwest does not come with a standard blu ray so they might be trying to cease the practice of bundling them altogether. It's extra baffling that they do include it in the UK for the steelbook.

Bundling was to move you to the new format.

By now you are either into 4K discs or not, no more convincing or baby steps needed. If your 4K fails which has been known to happen more than Blu-ray and the reliable DVD they are giving you a digital copy.

It’s better than nothing and I can see the studios stop offering that bundle as well…sooner rather than later.

Slowly but surely most of us can see what is happening to the physical market.

Also iTunes generally upgrades Blu-ray codes to 4K. I’ve notice WB, Paramount, Universal, Sony and Fox/Disney HD movies I’ve bought or HD codes I’ve redeemed I’ve gotten upgrades to 4K.

So a kind of hack is to buy the Companion Blu-ray and redeem code on iTunes.

I remember buying a 10 film Paramount Academy Award Winners Blu-ray box set where each disc was about $2.70 per disc and the package came with 10 codes for each film. I redeemed the codes on iTunes and any movie available in 4K redeemed in 4K. Any movie subsequently released in 4K was upgraded and if Paramount just upgraded digital only, 4K iTunes upgrade.
