Future Shop - Assassin's Creed $39.99 - Blu-ray Forum

I'm thinking of picking it up, although I've heard mixed reviews. What are your thoughts on getting it at this price? I also have a $10 gift card I could put towards it.

I should preface by saying, I'm not a hard-core gamer. I bought my PS3 exclusively for Blu-ray. However, it came with 3 games and when I saw the capabilities of the PS3 I ended up purchasing some more as I saw ones that looked interesting. Assassin's Creed and Uncharted are 2 of my favourites.

I really enjoyed Assassin's Creed. The visuals are amazing and the ability to scale virtually any wall instead of the usual restrictions in most games is really cool. The main knock against it has been it can get somewhat repetitive, however, with all the side missions and free range game play, I didn't find this much at all. I would recommend picking it up.

$39.99 is a good price, though I got it for that months ago with Dell's Days of Deals.

The game is pretty good. The cities actually feel like cities (they're gigantic, with thousands of residents doing a variety of every-day things) and the free-running feel (being able to run/climb/jump over just about anything) is great. The story is good too, and the gameplace is fun BUT it can get repetitive.

Overall, for $40 Id recommend it.
