Disney Lilo & Stitch 4K UHD (2002)

Lilo & Stitch 4K Blu-ray

Disney's Lilo & Stitch Live Action / Animation Double Pack 4K Blu-ray 2002 + 2025

]

Quote:
BURBANK, CA (April 1, 2025) – Aloha! Get ready for intergalactic fun and island vibes as Disney’s Lilo & Stitchrides the high-def wave onto 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on May 6. So shiny!

With stunning watercolor backgrounds setting the tropical tone, this heartwarming and humor-filled adventure follows a lovable – but mischievous – out-of-this-world creature and his adoptive Hawaiian family. Originally released in 2002 by Walt Disney Animation Studios, this ‘cute and fluffy’ classic has won more devoted fans than Lilo has delivered peanut butter sandwiches to Pudge!

And this summer, Lilo & Stitch returns to the big screen with the highly anticipated live-action reimagining, landing exclusively in theaters on May 23, 2025.

Disney’s Lilo & Stitch 4K Blu-ray invites audiences to ride a wave of bonus features, including deleted scenes, extra Elvis tunes, and a look at how Stitch might have popped into other Disney classics. And just as “‛ohana means family…and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten,” Lilo & Stitch remains a timeless animated adventure, meant to be cherished and remembered by fans of all ages!

125 minutes? I think that's the remake's length, not the original's length... Looks like someone at Forbes didn't check which Lilo and Stitch film they were looking at...

I doubt they have restored a 2002 digital movie...

Anyway great to see it finally announced.

As for Dolby Vision they didn't mention it for Moana 2 or Willow either. So remains to be seen.

As for steelbooks: Snow White, Cinderella, Nightmare, Sixth Sense and Signs did not get one. It's only been for new Disney branded movies, not catelogue releases.

The only Disney catelogue releases to be steelbook only in the U.S are Willow (which I suspect was to compliment the series) and Tombstone which is a live action Touchstone movie.

Yeah, it's still a surprise but it just means Disney is being selective for catelogue releases.

As someone who grew up with the Lilo & Stitch franchise as a kid, this is awesome news! I can’t wait to buy this when I go back on holiday to Orlando.

Now PLEASE release Blue Sky’s ROBOTS (2005) on physical 4K UHD next, Disney! XD

Keep 'em coming, Disney! Bambi, Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio, Dumbo (unedited), 101 Dalmatians, the lot! And if you want to un-DNR The Little Mermaid... we won't say no.

Great news. Very interesting this gets a standard but the newer movies aren't.

Honestly thought this was an april fools at first. Very hard to believe, though it's not unusual for Disney to release things to go with new things they want to promote, but since they skip some sometimes...

I'm glad it's real, but another reason why I didn't think it was true at first.. it's because, honestly, the cover actually rocks. No, it's true. WHEN was the last time a new cover for a new re-release got it THIS good? Not only is it good it also masterfully represents and respects the distinct watercolor visual style of the movie.

It says no Dolby Vision but probably will have it as it seems Disney is now commiting to it. The real problem is it'll be a BD66 and probably compressed, but whatever. I'm more bothered honestly about there not being a new disc for the Blu-ray that includes the missing extra from the 2-disc set. Guess I'll have to stick with them yet.

I really wish the 4K covers would be the original theatrical covers, but I don't want to be the A-hole who wants to complain. Thankful we're getting this.

I'm glad I didn't get the new Blu-ray.
The only reason that it's worth to suffer the live action remakes.

Normally I'm with you, but this movie came out in the era of Disney where international posters represented the film well, but the domestic ones were snarky and misleading. Case in point, this was the domestic poster for this movie:

So I'm good with what we've got. I'm more bummed that the DVD documentary and audio commentary still haven't gotten carried over, so once again I'll have to hang onto that 2-disc set.

The press release does mention an audiocommentary. But not the making of. That's strange.. so they're making a new disc but not including that? Then they also say: "*Bonus materials vary by format and retailer" so maybe they mean the digital extras.

Love the art but wish there was a steelbook option as well. Glad there’s a standard version though for you non-steelbook fans.

That poster was also released internationally. I remember frequently seeing it on newspapers.

It has the Ultimate Collector’s Edition banner which was dropped when Sony officially took over which means this was in production before the switch. Which would explain the lack of Dolby Vision. Since the UK version is now the official version on D+ and Blu-ray, I expect this to also be that.

I could wait and see if it is before pre-ordering. Or let FOMO kick in and just go for it.
