Default The Chase (1994) for $4.99!

This Charlie Sheen/Kristy Swanson movie from 1994 has long been a favorite of mine. Until this morning, however, it has not been available to purchase or stream, so I had to be content with my DVD. Found it by accident this morning. You can stream it on Prime Video if you are a Prime subscriber, or purchase it for $4.99(HD). Finally an HD copy of this classic!

Yikes. This is one I meant to buy a while back but was a bit hesistant since it was only for Amazon. Luckily still kept the dvd for this film. Also remember seeing this one in the theater as a kid and a small crowd of guys would crack and yell out every time Rollins was on screen.

Amazing that this silly but fun movie isn't available anywhere to watch easily. Watched it all the time as a kid. Would love a blu someday. I'd even take a bare bones disc with a slightly above average transfer. Something better than DVD quality.

Took a shot on Instagram to ask Adam Rifkin and I “think” the real Rifkin responded with “Unfortunately now that Disney bought Fox and it’s now part of the Disney library, I’m afraid the prospects of a Blu-ray are slim. But hopefully one day!”

AFAIK, 20th Century Disney only has US distro rights as international rights are handled by a company called Capitol Films. There's an alternate HD transfer out on some streaming services in Europe that's been minted from a German print and the provided is listed as Capitol for what it's worth.

Sounds like a prime candidate for a Spainish BD release.

Would love a blu for this. As mentioned in an older post above, enjoyed this in the theater as a kid. Sheen had a solid run in the 80s and 90s and was fairly versatile as both a comedic and dramatic actor. Both he and his brother were in some really solid films, but both really started to take on less entertaining roles by their early 30s or so. Obviously he struck financial gold with Two and a Half Men, but there's not much of interest from beyond the mid 90s. Dude lived a very fast and chaotic Hollywood life and it's unfortunate he became a parody of himself as time went on in addition to furthering his chaotic lifestyle.

apparently the DVD is pricey even used. Mine is Very Good condition as it still plays just fine. I also have the laserdisc.. Very annoying it's not on Blu Ray yet. No longer on Prime or Google Play

Fox catalog titles are kind of in a limbo with the Disney ownership and it's further frustrating with their titles ineligible for md2d on Vudu if they're available at all. I still have the dvd for this movie; the LD might even have better audio than the dvd.

I don't believe this has ever had a proper HD transfer released. The one that used to be on Amazon back then was a bootleg upscale and it looks awful I still have it. Never got to grab this on DVD before prices got stupid or I would have.
