Default "RRR (Rise, Roar, Revolt) / 2022 / dir. S. S. Rajamouli

Maybe there's already a thread about this movie, and I'm just not seeing it, but why are we NOT talking about this movie.

From the director S.S. Rajamouli who's 'Baahubali: The Beginning' (2015) and 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion' (2017) are excellent movies in of themselves. 'RRR' about:

'A tale of two legendary revolutionaries and their journey far away from home. After their journey they return home to start fighting back against British colonialists in the 1920s'.

is nothing short of a totally exhilarating, balls to the walls action film, that recall the balletic slow-mo style and panache of John Woo movies, with couple of dance numbers. Add a truly bombastic, wild and LOUD Dolby Atmos mix that beats anything that Hollywood has churned out. I haven't seen a movie of this type and that left me feeling completely whipped and excited in a very VERY long - highly recommended!

Was actually going to give this a shot this week after hearing about it over the weekend, but sadly I’m not going to be able to go. Will try and watch it when it hits Netflix though.

Netflix will have dubbed English version after 90 days. This is one of those movies will have better impact on big screen with great sound system.

That's interesting that it's an action film. Thanks.
I saw a few Bollywood movies in theaters because they offered 3D, and was pleasantly surprised by the style and really well filmed action scenes in them. They're usually entertaining movies.

2.0 3D Entertaining, good action.

Padmaavat 3D Entertaining, good action.

And one more that was entertaining. I can't remember the name at the moment. But it had a tough guy who drove sports cars in the desert, and he would sing and dance and then kick@ss with gunbattles, fights and racing. Got it, Race 3 3D.

What is unexpected, is most of the film will be in Hindu language with subtitles, and then at some moments, they'll speak in English for some reason. Then back again.

But yes, I believe it when Dubstar of the first post, says the action in these films deliver.

The 3D is what really got me to see those, and they did a nice job on the conversions in general, with medium 3D layers overall.

Here's a movie currently in theaters also: Attack Part 1. Action looks good.

Yeah, the action scenes look promising. The part where the guy kicks the back tire of the motorcycle and it flips up for him to catch it, good stuff.
I don't know about the story and would have to look into the history of it.
I see it's 3 hours. That's an investment of time, like 2 movies in one.

Actually for a three hour movie it moves quite briskly. Oddly there's a 5 minute interval which really isn't that long to run and use the loo (IMO)

Its common with Indian Movies even if they are only 2 hours long. Generally the interval would be 10-15Mins.

It's an A-List excluded movie, so that, plus the long runtime means i probably will wait and see if I can rent it. Sounds great though.

I knew it wasn't A-List included, but when my friend noted to me that Dolby Cinema was $40 - my jaw dropped. Even at Showcase ICON the price was $25, I had a readmittance pass and surprisingly I was able to use it

Tickets for the movie are cheaper this weekend. $15 for adults, $10 for children. It's no longer in premium theaters, but it isn't something you should miss.

Best Bollywood movie in a long time. So much fun

When I went, I bought a kids ticket and added a fandango credit on top to ease the blow haha

Thanks Dubstar for getting the word out about this movie to fellow members. It kicks ass!

oh you're very welcome ~ I think I've got my friend to see it next Tuesday, woohoo!

I jokingly told my friend, since he's 18, he should dress 'younger' to pass for a kid - LOL

Tickets are even cheaper now, and AMC is allowing you to use your a-list subscription on tix.

Thumbs up

I saw this over the weekend (@ AMC via A-List). It's pretty awesome.

For an over 3-hour movie, I gotta say I was more comfortable and consistently entertained than The Batman. (I love The Batman, but it's overlong.) This is a slightly longer movie that feels shorter.

When the intermission came (which was not a real intermission at my theater, they didn't actually pause the movie), I was worried. It came right after an amazing action sequence (Bheem's assault on the compound). I was skeptical about the movie being able to maintain interest for so long after what felt like a climatic scene. But no worries; it then delves into Ram's backstory, and his father turned out to be my favorite character!

So, if you want to experience something bonkers and OTT, this is a different kind of epic. It has its share of cheese (paneer?) to be sure, but it is a sincere, good-natured, and wildly entertaining bromance between two mythic heroes. Highly recommended.

I saw it a few days ago myself, and thought it was a pretty epic movie. I haven't seen many Bollywood/Indian films, but I knew what to expect as far as the singing/dancing, and I actually enjoyed those parts a lot more than I thought I would. The dancing and songs were very catchy. Besides the songs, the score that comes on during the dramatic action parts got me pretty hyped up as well. The action was insanely over the top, and honestly gives Hollywood a run for its money. The bridge scene in particular was pretty awesome. I do feel like they could have probably trimmed several scenes, but with a film that is as overindulgent as this, I didn't mind spending extra time in this world.
