I saw this in theaters as a kid many, many moons ago. One of those odd titles that just stuck around in my memory banks decades later. Also, Savannah Smiles, The Toy, pure 80’s...

Love will turn you around. Turn you around. Love this movie. It use to be on HBO 24/7 when I was a kid.

OK, I see now. Anyone can make a listing for a movie even when there's no Blu-ray release planned. For example, I added the 2 Dr. Who movies even though no US Blu-rays are planned at this time.

In closing, it's not happening now.

Kenny Rogers worked out with both Schwarzenegger and Stallone in 1982 to get a six-pack. Dude was cut. But then fell back into a life of country biscuits, gravy, rice, pork chops, and extra gravy.

It was one of the first times I ever heard curse words in a movie. That's how young I was. Kenny Rogers kicking through a bathroom door saying, "I'll get the [expletive] open." That and the title song are pretty much all I remember about the film. Surprised it isn't on blu yet.

Love this movie... Like others I caught this on HBO, at my grandparents house back in the day. And that song... Talk about nostalgia.
Thanks Kenny, you will be missed

Unfortunately, this was one of the Fox movies licensed to Anchor Bay that Anchor Bay never got around to releasing on blu-ray. Mischief (1985) is another one. With Disney now owning the Fox movies, there's little chance of a blu-ray release. It isn't even available digitally.

I'm hoping that after Coronavirus passes, Disney will be so anxious to start making money again that they will have a change of heart and start licensing the movies in the Fox library.

I posted this in the Kenny Rogers thread but I'm reposting it here because pretty much everyone watched Six Pack back in the 80s. You could not escape it:

Quote:
You couldn't have missed this on HBO in the early '80s: Kenny Rogers and 'Six Pack'

If you were a kid in the early '80s, when Showtime and HBO (along with MTV) with the three greatest channels on cable, chances are you saw Kenny Rogers and 1982's Six Pack about a dozen times.

I know it so well, I could probably recite it line for line for now if it came on TV, which sadly it rarely does anymore. Rogers played Brewster Baker, an aging stock car driver who's trying to make it back to the big time. Only his comeback attempt is sidetracked by a gang on kids (led by a young Diane Lane) who strip his race car. Turning them into the sheriff does not good; they work for him! So Baker finds himself becoming the reluctant father figure to the gang, who in turn help him make it to the bigs. In the meantime, he also has time to rekindle a relationship with the lovely Erin Gray. Trust me, it's better than it sounds.

I never got the DVD, but would love this on BD. I saw this with my parents at the drive-in as a double feature with Tron

I agree with everyone on this thread, I must have seen this 50 times on HBO and VHS back in the day, it reminds me of a simpler time and would love to own this on BD.

Thumbs up

Diane Lane was 16 when this movie was filmed. She equally looked and sounded 13.

She might have been playing a 13 year of age girl in this movie. Diane certainly could’ve pulled that off at 16, that’s for sure.

She’s going to be 55 this year and she could pass for 30. Amazing!
