First of all, I'm going to start by asking whether there has been a physical media release of the detective drama series Silk Stalkings outside the States. Was it Anchor Bay who originally released the first five seasons on DVD in the States, then Mill Creek re-released the first season, along with releasing the last three seasons in one DVD set?
I've asked in the Mill Creek thread in the Studios and Distributors sub-forum about whether there are HD masters of the series and whether Mill Creek still have the rights to releasing it on physical media. I'd love to see a complete series/collection Blu-ray release if HD masters exist. I can't remember if Silk Stalkings was ever shown over here on TV. |

Shout Factory has (almost?) all of the SJC catalog and will be distributing it in some fashion at some point. Silk Stalkings - like pretty much all of it's contemporary shows - was finished on video, so no HD masters exist, though the entire series can be redone in HD, if someone is willing to pay for the work and the 16mm negatives are all in order.

Since I last posted in this thread, boutique label VEI released all eight seasons of Silk Stalkings on DVD in January last year (it had been postponed from the previous month). Below are the Blu-ray.com and VEI website listing page links:
![]() https://www.visualentertainment.tv/p...40453436768361 By accident, while checking Amazon.de for physical media releases of older television series earlier, discovered that French boutique label Elephant Films are releasing separate season DVD sets of all eight seasons of Silk Stalkings next month. Also found out (on both Amazon.de and Amazon.fr) that Elephant Films released the series in two half-series DVD boxsets last year. |

Watched last weekend (Saturday night) the pilot of Silk Stalkings (from VEI's complete series DVD boxset). The transfer was kind of what I expected for a television series from that period (soft-looking picture), and the colours weren't faded. I had watched the first episode once before (possibly from Mill Creek's DVD re-release of the first season). On this re-watch it was entertaining and not dull (not great but not bad either). It passed the time well with a good case for the two lead detectives (played by Rob Estes and Mitzi Kapture).
The only non-recurring guest star in the pilot who I recognised was Ann Turkel (have seen them before in a couple of season two Knight Rider episodes). |

![]() Note: Joel, you'll be happy about this as in the second episode of the first season that I watched this past weekend ("Going to Babylon") there was a Van Damme connection (well, sort of). Among the guest stars was Deborah Rennard, who I know best from playing J.R.'s secretary Sly in the original Dallas television series (she appeared in an early Van Damme film, A.W.O.L.: Absent Without Leave). The transfers have been mixed (some parts looking fine and others having issues with the lines of cars and some objects), but once you ignore the few faults it's a decent detective drama series (it definitely has that early-nineties vibe (and that title sequence is one of my favourites). The sound is clear. |
