Default ebay sales

just noticed on ebay for the first time theres more films for sale on hd-dvd than blu ray.

i guess that means that most hd-dvd users may abandon the format for blu, altho this statement seems obvious quite a few of my hd dvd friends are sticking with it and picking up titles on the cheap before joining blu as they would rather pay £5 or so for the hd dvd than pay £17 or so for the evential blu of the titles.

personaly i sold my hd dvd player(i was purple) the day of the wb news as we knew this would happen but i dont see what there doing as a bad idea, does anyone else think this is good idea?

If I had an HD-DVD player I'd keep it. Who knows in a about 30 years they might be worth something!

I'll keep my player as well. I look forward to picking up titles on fire sale for super cheap. I'll probably pick up a cheap back-up in the event my current player takes a dump on me at some point down the line. I'll own some Format War II history.

Unhappy

People are selling there whole collections, how Sad.
if blu-ray failed, i don't think i would have even considered selling my collection. (Wont there X box addons still work?)

but some people are strangely optimistic This guys trying to sell his collection for $+1300AUD; (~$21 a title)

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HD-DVD-Collec...QQcmdZViewItem

Id feel very sorry for any poor sap that bought it for $1300 and didn't know it was a discontinued format.

If I had been purple I would have held into my player as well for this very reason. I think it's kind of cool when you see people that still have Betamax players It's a part of tech history.

I DEFINITELY would not have gotten rid of any of my blu collection! Even when the time comes for the next step in movie tech I will hold on dearly. I love my blu baby.

People are just trying to profit from the panic. Supply and demand economics is an interesting phenomenon.

If Blu-ray had lost, I would not have gotten rid of my Blu titles since I'd still have my PS3.

I have been watching eBay for a few weeks not, while there are more HDs on there now, they have hovered around the 4500 - 5000 mark consistently. The BD are the ones that have dropped in number from over 7000+ to now well under 4500. I think this has to do with BD winning, more people are buying BD on eBay, probably the same people trying to sell HD there. I expected to see eBay flooded with HD, but that does not seem to be the case yet, either that or more likely there is just way less used HDs for sale because there were way less sold new.

i find it very funny that people on ebay are still paying 100 - 150 for the hd-dvd add on for 360. im just suprized people are paying more then 50 bucks for an hd dud player now. honestly my dvd player took a dump so if i could grab a dud player for 50 buck to use it as an upconverter for my dvd's i get one off of ebay, but i wouldnt buy a hd dud movie.
