Witcher 3 was a solid, fun game. Hopefully CDPR focuses in and puts 100% of their heart and effort into this one, unlike their broken disaster last game, Cyberpunk on PS4 and PS5 (crashing game).
The open world was fun to explore, combat was easy to get used to but basic, and generally great visuals. The update improved the game by stabilizing the wobbling camera every time Geralt walked over a bump on the ground. Thank you for that, as I no longer feel dizzy playing the game when just walking. Cool dungeons, towns, monsters, forests, and lots of outfits/armor to upgrade to. I only wish CDPR would clean up their inventory menus. They're usually a mess to sort through. Will wait for real gamer reviews before buying Witcher 4, when it's ready by 2026 is my guess. |

I'll stay wary after the chaotic release of Cyberpunk 2077.
But it could be good as long as they stay true to the soul of Witcher 3 and hopefully they avoid any inspiration from the Netflix adaptation. While the Witcher 3 looks good, they obviously need to polish the gameplay and graphics to be slightly more modern, which I'm convinced they will manage. |

I'm so tired of the open world formula. Fetch quests and using your senses to track somebody or creature.
They really need a new formula. After Horizon Forbidden West I am completely burned out on this open world maps and gameplay everyone uses now. |

Liked Breath of the Wild for not structuring everything around linear quests with map markers, tiring amounts of dialogue, special senses and all that AAA stuff. Mostly felt free to explore my sandbox. But yeah, tired of most of the open world games too. Would much rather make a linear game if I had the tens of millions of dollars to do what these companies do, because it's super difficult to design a big open world game where almost every space is interesting and still have the story flow organically.

Unreal 5 will give them a much needed headstart and ease the development process by a lot hopefully. Quote:
Like in the real world, different locations will always hold different characters/stories and objectives to consider. I don't know how else that can be structured. That's the nature of open world games, as levels are to linear stage based games. |

Loved Witcher 3. Still waiting for the free upgrade before playing the DLCs but if they can actually learn from the mistakes of Cyberpunk 2077, and go back more in line with Witcher 3, i'd love to jump back into the world.
I actually would love some remake of the first two just so we can have a proper series on next gen to play the entire story through. |

Actually what I hope is that CDPR will allow us to create our own Witcher. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed playing as Geralt of Rivia and following his story but when it comes to RPG's I'd much rather create my own character. Last edited by Steelmaker; 03-22-2022 at 11:38 AM. |
