What amazing news. I’d wanted to see the film for years and immediately snatched the Blu-ray upon release. I absolutely adored the film, especially the visuals and overall vibe. Cannot wait for this new disc.

Had the 2020 disc on my wishlist for the longest time, but dropped it after reading Svet’s review. Seems like his feelings of it being pretentious are more the exception than the rule in comparison with other reviewers. With it getting a 4K now though, think I’ll add it back on.

The blu-ray transfer is subpar but not unwatchable—though I'm such a massive fan of both the film and its soundtrack that I'm probably watching through rose-tinted glasses so thick they could double as welding goggles.

Definitely worth the double dip! While we're at it, I'd love to see his later work get the proper treatment—right now it's been banished to DVD purgatory. Sure, I know his later films are generally weaker compared to his initial successes, but my curiosity is stronger than my critical judgment. Sometimes you just need to see the whole artistic journey, even if it includes a few detours into "what was he thinking?" territory!

Yes, please. The BD is a travesty. Too bad there never will be a longer DC version (the released version is severely cut) since the deleted footage was thrown away.

Dr. Svet Atanasov's movie ratings have long been the topic of discussion and ridicule. And I see you've been around here long enough to probably know that. His "review" of this film mostly compares it to a conversation he had at a party. Which I found about as clear as you did Neil Lumbard's video and audio ratings for "Love and Other Catastrophes" and "Dating the Enemy".
