What amazing news. I’d wanted to see the film for years and immediately snatched the Blu-ray upon release. I absolutely adored the film, especially the visuals and overall vibe. Cannot wait for this new disc.

Had the 2020 disc on my wishlist for the longest time, but dropped it after reading Svet’s review. Seems like his feelings of it being pretentious are more the exception than the rule in comparison with other reviewers. With it getting a 4K now though, think I’ll add it back on.

Please let it be SDR, otherwise I’ll take whatever SC or another label releases in Europe.

I've said it countless times, but somebody really needs to rescue Beineix's The Moon in the Gutter. The Blu-ray is horrendous. Nastassja Kinski and Gérard Depardieu deserve better.

The blu-ray transfer is subpar but not unwatchable—though I'm such a massive fan of both the film and its soundtrack that I'm probably watching through rose-tinted glasses so thick they could double as welding goggles.

Definitely worth the double dip! While we're at it, I'd love to see his later work get the proper treatment—right now it's been banished to DVD purgatory. Sure, I know his later films are generally weaker compared to his initial successes, but my curiosity is stronger than my critical judgment. Sometimes you just need to see the whole artistic journey, even if it includes a few detours into "what was he thinking?" territory!

I missed TMITG on release so for a first time watch the Cinema Libre BD passed. It'll get its upgrade down the road I expect. As mentioned we're talking Kinski and Depardieu.

Anyone else giving us a Diva 4k release?

Yes, please. The BD is a travesty. Too bad there never will be a longer DC version (the released version is severely cut) since the deleted footage was thrown away.

Studio Canal have announced their UHD and BD releases of the 4K resto of Diva. Hope KL will do so soon:

Damn. Wish I knew. Just wasted money on the old bluray during the sale.

I'm convinced he's just making terms up in the technical paragraphs.

You're disappointed it wasn't a glowing five-star review? OFFS.

It's a critically acclaimed movie. Ebert's review alone was the reason why I saw it. And yes, I feel it deserves more than a 3 star rating. You have a problem with that?

I very much have a problem with calling someone a quack just because they have a differing opinion about a film, especially when they clearly provide their reasoning for such a score.

Dr. Svet Atanasov's movie ratings have long been the topic of discussion and ridicule. And I see you've been around here long enough to probably know that. His "review" of this film mostly compares it to a conversation he had at a party. Which I found about as clear as you did Neil Lumbard's video and audio ratings for "Love and Other Catastrophes" and "Dating the Enemy".
