A restored and remastered 4K version of John Woo’s HARD BOILED, starring Chow Yun-Fat and Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, is set to have its premiere at Cannes Classics.

Following its Cannes Classics premiere, the newly restored HARD BOILED 4K will be released in North America through Shout! Studios’ new entertainment label, Hong Kong Cinema Classics™, and in France through Metropolitan Film.

Not trying to be negative but i wish DOTD posted a bit more context when he does this stuff, he is only posting this cause it got upgraded to 4K on digital platforms, there is no official announcement yet, but it will probably come, just wish he'd be more open.

Might as well add 'City on Fire' UHD while you're at it.

These are both up for digital pre-order on iTunes, etc showing Shout as the distributor.

OldPangYau has pretty much confirmed that these are on the way





On a side note: DOTD and the other tossers like them piss me off. If they credited people at the very least I'd have a little more respect for them.

This is one of the top ten of my all-time outta the way now. Spectacular to know it's getting here eventually. Some of the most "rewind and rewatch" action sequences I've ever seen.

And yeah, taking things others have posted as news and passing 'em off as a scoop is common practice nowadays. Thing is, it's not too hard to find the source, at least in my experience.
