When I see an announcement like this my first thought is, “I wonder what will go wrong with this release that will require a replacement disc...?”

The most recent Blu Ray a few years back was done from a fresh 4K scan, so the UHD is presumably from that same one.

Yes, they mentioned pre-orders open on May 24 at Shout Factory (steelbook only on that day?).

I never thought I would see a day where I would see Transformers the Movie on 4K UHD. And only 5 years out from the start of the 4K UHD format. It took over 10 years for The Transformers: The Movie came out on Blu-ray. It seems like more and more movies are coming quicker on the UHD format with so many more to go. I think it might be safe to say that 4K is here to stay.

I hope this finally has proper color grading for Hot Rod.I don't expect too much from the HDR grading, though I do expect it to look nice on a proper FALD display.

I believe the BD was a scan from an IP. I'm assuming that'll be the basis for this release as well.
