Xbox games showcase 2025 - Blu-ray Forum

Guess I'll start a thread so it's all in one place. As usual I'm always most pleased by shadow drops. Hoping for some more gentlemen's agreements between Xbox and Japanese developers. Wondering if Contraband is still in development. Really hoping Perfect Dark is seeing the finish line this year (yeah right).

The Xbox Games Showcase has a start time of 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST on June 8th.

Here's the list of Xbox Showcase times for each region:

North America: 10am PDT / 11am MDT / 12pm CDT / 1pm EDT
UK/Ire: 6pm BST
Europe: 7pm CEST / 8pm EEST
Asia/Oceania: 2am (Mon) JST / 1am (Mon) AWST / 3am (Mon) AEST
Your Local Time: 1pm, Sun 8th Jun 2025 Eastern Daylight Time

The Outer Worlds 2 Direct will then take place immediately following the Xbox Showcase.

Wonder if they will finally re-release some Activision classics. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1&2, Deadpool, Transformers Fall of Cybertron/The Dark Spark are the only delisted games (that I'm aware of) that you can add to your wishlist, it's been more than a year since that change happened so when can we buy them? They should make the entire Activision catalog BC (including Xbox and Xbox 360) and bring back as many as possible for sale.

Also curious if Hideo Kojima will take time from his Death Stranding 2 victory lap to stop by and show more than just Metahuman talking heads for OD.

I suspect we will see Halo Infinite (at least the free to play part) relaunched in UE5, available everywhere.

In the "never going to happen" category, I would love to see Agni's Philosophy get resurrected by Luminous Productions, looked way better than what it devolved into. That and Scalebound

Anyway, hoping we get some interesting surprises. Old games, new games, ports, and everything Xbox Play Anywhere.

Probably just get some lovely footage from the Gears Ultimate re-release. I'm hoping not since it's close to release and I'm tired of time being devoted to stuff during these shows that don't need it.

007 looks pretty good, if we don’t get Perfect Dark we still have a spy thriller to look forward to. Also 3rd person for those who don’t care for the first person perspective.

Starting to wonder if Sony locked up all Marvel licensing for games, maybe that’s why MUA hasn’t had the console re-release. Pretty sure this new Marvel game from Arc is going to be exclusive to PS5 and PC, looks like a great game.

I don’t think you can retroactively lock down licensing like that. Pretty sure it has to do with marvel. Probably wanted too much and MS knew it wasn’t worth the effort to bring them to the program. I know last they said before closing that version of the division they had said basically if there’s a game you like that didn’t make it it’s down to licensing fees or IP ownership hell.

Sarah Bond just confirmed Silent Hill lowercase f is coming to Xbox. Not sure if that was known yet or not.

That makes sense, and I forgot there is a Marvel game coming to all platforms later this year.

Totally forgot about No Rest for the Wicked from the Ori group. Just got a sizeable update on early access. Wouldn't mind a shadow drop on Gamepass this weekend.

Maybe it’s just overload from all the gaming new this week but I don’t think there will be anything exciting at the event tomorrow. Maybe they’ll shadow drop Silk Song or show Blade gameplay, but it’s been such a busy week.

Pretty good show. Keeper from Double Fine looks cool, I enjoyed High on Life so I'll probably play the sequel. Pro Skater 3 + 4 is looking pretty good, FF XVI available today, FF VII remake this winter so I guess that's nice. Planet of Lana was a good Game Pass game so I'll probably play that one as well, not sure if I have the patience for another Super Meat Boy but I'm sure it will be a fun challenge.

Also, glad to see lots of Silk Song gameplay but it would have been nice to see an actual trailer instead of a bunch of cockeyed offscreen play from the ROG Xbox Ally X. It was also nice to hear Phil mention a new Forza Horizon…but does that mean it’s coming this year?

Yeah really decent show. Seems they’re finally getting their momentum back. Man was I super into the last reveal until BLOPS 19. Meh.

Phil looked really thin.

I took his comments about the series (including Forza) to mean next year considering he was speaking of the 25th anniversary. If it was this year we would have seen it.

Yeah, it is a packed year, and even though FH games are usually announced a few months before they launch, it doesn't seem very likely. Lots of players in the ecosystem, but with no new content (as far as we know) I wonder if the game can survive until next year w/o something new.

Maybe he has more time for fitness now that Sarah Bond is taking a bigger role. (or ozempic? or he's ill?)

Still funny to think that somebody argued with me that Sea of Thieves wouldn't have free dlc after the first three years.

Outer Worlds 2, Clockwork Revolution, Mudang and Chronos are what I remember off the top of my head as games I'd like to try. And how about Keeper? Never change Double Fine.
