They are thick as thieves and coming together for yet another heist: Gerard Butler, Tucker Tooley, Mark Canton, Alan Siegel, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and director Christian Gudegast with O’Shea Jackson, Jr. (who is in negotiations) have pacted to return for a sequel to the heist thriller Den of Thieves. The project, which will be distributed by STX worldwide and financed by Diamond Film Productions, is being written by Gudegast from an original idea.

Den of Thieves 2 will find Butler’s character Big Nick on the hunt in the streets of Europe, as he’s closing in on Jackson Jr.’s character Donnie. They plot a massive heist of the world’s biggest diamond exchange.

I had resigned myself to Den of Thieves being the last masculine ensemble piece but if we can get one more out of Hollywood, then I'm all for it!

I really enjoyed the first one, but that extra ending kinda ruined it. I just pretend the movie ended before that little epilogue. Therefore I also don't think this movie needs a sequel.

He didnt die officially .

We saw Ofc Henderson come up to him after 50 had been shot. But we only saw him struggling to breath, not officially die.

Hmm, alright. I can see them working around it, but a lot of other plot summaries that I read online (like the one on Wikipedia) agree that he died, though I suppose they didn't make it 100% official (like a headshot or something).

This first one was pretty good but it’s slow some parts and Gerald butler is awesome in it.

I kind of agree with respect to the epilogue.

My hope is that the sequel will just be a standard heist film, with Ice Cube Jr. and 50 Cent and the crew robbing the diamond exchange and some British cops trying to stop them. My main concern is there will be an arched eyebrow throughout and it will try and be clever and full of twists.

I mean I thought he did die tbh.

Because I think the bullet hit him near the neck and he was losing blood pretty quickly.

But you never saw the turn and look at the sky and freeze look of death.

He just looked at the officer next to him and nodded his head while looking like he was about to flatline.

It could also be 50 cent coming back for flashback scenes pre-Den of Thieves timeline.

It was clearly a death scene but they realised they could bring him back on a technicality, I don't think this film was made with a sequel in mind.
