Default Remembering Gene Wilder (2024)

Quote:
Kino Lorber has acquired all rights worldwide to Ron Frank’s documentary Remembering Gene Wilder, a portrait of the life and career of the beloved actor and comedian.

Featuring highlights from Wilder’s most memorable films as well as interviews with his closest friends, family, and fellow comics, the film will next play as the Closing Night movie of the New York Jewish Film Festival on January 24.

Kino Lorber is planning a theatrical release in March 2024, followed by a home video, non-theatrical, and digital release.

Gene is certainly in my top 3 when it comes to actors I enjoy most. I have to see and own this. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone I know would be willing to see it in theaters so I'll probably wait for the disc release. I'll probably weep, such an amazing comedic talent.

They changed the cover . The piercing blue eyes are still there, but it's not as strong. Not going to stop me from getting it, but sets me odd I guess.

Please update thread with future release date info when available. Thanks. I'm not ashamed to say I'm probably going to cry like a baby when I watch this. He's one of my all time favorite actors!

^ I remember him for at least ten movies before that one, but it’s cool he could inspire so many favorites.

My ex wife had such a crush on him after seeing Woody's, "Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex..."

I only saw two of Gene's movies: Willy Wonka and See No Evil, Hear No Evil. Both were pretty good in their own way, though because of Richard Pryor the latter was obviously more crass.

Nice doc. I swear I've seen this before because it felt so familiar but of course I haven't.

Learned about Silver Streak from this, which I watched for the first time last week too.

I enjoyed this too.

Pity about the cheap Youtube clips but overall it's definitely worth a look if you're a fan of Wilder.
