Beyond Hollywood Review

This was a hidden gem in more ways than one. The movie is delightful and motley cast delivers a fun, musical, way to spend 2 hours. The picture in this Blu-ray from Taiwan distributor, BitWel, is surprisingly real high def. BitWel has been notorious for selling upscaled DVDs and sometimes VCDs as Blu-ray, but this time it's real high def. The picture is average for real Blu-ray, but I can't really complain after all the other disappointing titles from BitWel. The sound is also in Dolby TrueHD 5.1, another first for this distributor. English subtitles are excellent. Highly recommended!!!

Thanks for the review. I was hoping this would be actual HD cause there's a Japanese Blu-ray. I'll have to pick this up!

I have this one, it's a really nice movie. Unlike the previous BitWel blu-rays I got, it's Dolby TrueHD 5.1 instead of LPCM 5.1
According to xradman's description about DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD, and LPCM 5.1 , these three technologies show the same audio quality. So it's no difference whether this blu-ray comes with Dolby TrueHD or LPCM. Right?

I wonder if anyone is going to release "Love Exposure" on Blu-ray. I'm dying to get a copy of this epic movie.

IMO their LPCM5.1 is not a real HD track but something they processed (probably from a 2.0 track) themselves and call it LPCM5.1

I wouldn't trust their titles which have LPCM5.1 tracks (unless of course the quality is confirmed f.i. here on this forum)

I watched "returner" blu-ray and "swing girls" blu-ray these two days, and I am quite sure both blu-ray comes with 5.1 surrounded audio.

I connect my PS3 to 5.1 amplifier via a HDMI cable, and connect 5.1 amplifier and TV via a HDMI cable, I feel both blu-rays to support surrounded 5.1 audio.

xradman is a movie expert, and he has these two titles as well, if he can provide more information, it would be helpful.

This is getting a nice bluray release from KimchiDVD in Korea. Announced in the same month that I finally got the Japanese bluray.

I love this movie. I'd buy it again if I knew if this is remastered or has a better transfer than the previous blu's.
