highlander the series on dvd if you upscale it on a blu ray player or a ultra hd blu ray player will it look good also will the player crop it? please answer both questions

Anybody any idea about a blu-ray on the horizon? One of my all-time favorite shows. I wanna start rewatching it soon but I'd rather want to wait a year or so if I know it is coming on blu!

The Release that was announced yet not been released is called a "Digitally Enhanced" version. Which actually means it is Ai upscaled, to try and make it look better in HD. It's not an easy process because results are such a mixed bag, you cant just run an entire episode through the process at once, because the quality would be very inconsistent. it's something that has to be broken down into a scene by scene even shot by shot process.

for various Reasons the show can not be remastered from original film elements, the Price alone would be too much. In regard to the Ai Upscales, the Talk is that "Quality Control" is taking a while. which makes since doing it as Ai Upscales, especially 6 seasons.

Unfortunately it will never look as good as it should, due to it's original post production Process being on Video.

Yes indeed, it was announced a few years ago I think?! But it never materialized, perhaps due to the same issues @hatter76 talked about!
Still, I would be most tempted should this set materialize sometime down the road.

Thanks for sharing. This used to be my favorite show back in the day during my second tour in Germany watching it on AFN.
