Default Port of Shadows (Le quai des brumes) (1938)

Port of Shadows (Le quai des brumes) by Marcel Carne (along with Jean Vigo's L'Atalante) is one of the greatest films ever made, and it is the film that supposedly influenced the term film noir by being a thematic precursor to the style of filmmaking.

I have the Kino Blu-ray and Criterion DVD, which features my favorite artwork for this film. I would buy a poster of the Criterion cover in a heartbeat:

Directed by Marcel Carné
Written by Jacques Prévert (scenario and dialogue)
Pierre Mac Orlan (novel)
Produced by Gregor Rabinovitch
Starring Jean Gabin
Michel Simon
Michèle Morgan
Pierre Brasseur
Cinematography Eugen Schüfftan
Edited by René Le Hénaff
Music by Maurice Jaubert
Production
company
Franco London Films
Distributed by Osso Films (France)
Film Alliance of the United States Inc. (US)
Release date
18 May 1938 (France)

Here is a trailer for the re-release:

And here is an original French trailer:

Supposedly coming to 4k in October, through Studiocanal, in France at least.

If it comes to pass, AMAZING news!
