Avatars? - Blu-ray Forum

Is there a way to download or create your your own avatar for ps3 or do you just have to choose from the ones they have? Thanks!

I think you can only choose, which sucks because I don't like much of the ones available.

Hopefully you can create your likeness in Home and use that as an avatar (a little portrait shot or something). It'd be nice.

How were you able to do this? I tried awhile back to do the same thing and didn't have any luck.

You can upload a picture for your Log in name on the XMB bar, but you can't for the playstation network avatar...

This is realy poor of sony!

I swear they have only added one new page of avatars since day one!

I think if sony want to proove them selves as the winner of online console gaming they should start to chuck in a few more features! Not realy sure about home, i just want to turn on ps3 and play a game. Don't want to go into a virtual world just to change the picture next to my name!

Yeah, there seems to be a lot of unbased missconceptions about Home. I don't see where everybody is getting the idea of it being the psn version of Live. Or that it's only a Virtual World. Pretty Sure I don't know what it is, but I don't think many other people do....

i can remember hearing from somewhere that home will be the only major udate towards your online account!

all im saying is, i would like to be able to click on my contact and have more options that just read messages. wouldn't mind seeing what games they have and a few piccys or better invites to games!

100% agree. There is an awful lot Sony could learn from Microsoft in that respect. Not saying that I want the Playstation Network to be identical to Live, but we are from from the features that I am looking for. A simple avatar change to something of my choosing is a good place to start....
