Isn't it strange how numerous Bogdanovich titles have been put back into circulation after his death?

Texasville and now Paper Moon, now we just need Mask and Nickelodeon

I've been catching up with (and re-watching) a lot of Bogdanovichs this year and wasn't sure if I was going to re-watch this one since I just watched it a couple of years ago. As it turns out, this 4k may be the capper to my year of the Bog.

Fun fact: I had the pleasure of working with Tatum O'Neil on a project in the mid-2010's. It was on location, so we were all staying in the same hotel, and I got to do my laundry with Tatum O'Neil! While I usually try to give movie stars "their space", I decided to pick her brain about Paper Moon. She was very gracious and told some great stories: f'r'instance, when they're driving off in the truck and Tatum almost falls off a high stack of crates... "we didn't have any safety on set like we do today; that was VERY VERY REAL".

Caught it on TCM at 2am last Month (Timezones be damned) and fell in love with it from Frame Uno. This might be my Priority for the November Sale (if it's a full-Month Sale instead of a Flash one)

I didn't even watch my Eureka import. Got it in February 2023, shortly after watching the Netflix DVD rental, and just never got around to it. Dang.

The Janus retrospective of Jacques Rozier’s films also only happened after he died last year. It’s a shame as Bogdanovich was such a great participant in these releases. Luckily he’s part of many archival extras.
