Disney Japan released Hiromasa Yonebayashi's Mary and the Witch's Flower (メアリと魔女の花) (2017) in a Limited Collector's Edition on March 20th, 2018.

English subtitles are provided for the main feature.

A standard edition will be released on October 1st, 2025.

Pre-ordered earlier today. Love his previous work on Arrietty and When Marnie was There and can't wait for this. It also has one of the best and most unique-sounding soundtracks of the year!

Yes, this was animated in 2K, but Your Name was animated in 1080p.

This is playing at my local AMC. They have a showing with the English dub as well as one with the original Japanese audio w/ English subs. I might try to see it if I can get through all of the Oscar nominated films first.

YesAsia denotes the audio as such, although I'm seeing other websites denoting this as only DTS 5.1 and not DTS-X

Disney Japan is very clear that the UHD Blu-ray has DTS:X, while both the Blu-ray and UHD Blu-ray have DTS Headphone:X:

So excited for this release! I was going to get the US release, but since it looks like there will be no 4K release here and this edition is not only 4K but also a super awesome looking release, I definitely will be preordering this!

I tried to order this from Amazon Japan and it couldn't find my account (I have ordered from Amazon UK and Canada without a problem).
Also, at a price of ¥10,593 plus shipping, that's $100.42, according to Google.
I did see this movie in the theater, dubbed in English. The animation was beautiful.
I have all the Studio Ghibli films in Blu-ray, so I want to add this to my collection.

I'm sure it's a good movie, but, no way in hell I'm paying $100 for any movie.

I asked about the price because I thought I was seeing the wrong thing on the currency converter when I used it.

You have to create a separate account for Amazon Japan, as your US account doesn't carry over there for some reason. Anyhow the price is JPY 10,758 (or $105.56) shipped stateside, which is an awful lot for a single film on any format even if it does come with some swag. Kinda reminds me of the old LaserDisc pricing back in the day, really.

Technically, with the pre-order price guarantee, it costs ¥9,156 (currently US $87) to the US plus shipping. Not great, but also, not $100+. For reference, the list price is ¥12,960 (currently over US $122), so Amazon offered a savings of at least $35-odd if you pre-ordered.
