Default Why some Blu-ray Tiles in UK but not US?

I have a question! Why there are some Blu-ray movie titles are available in the UK but not in the US market?

distributions rights are different by country
for example Paramount has the right to TF worldwide
Sweeny Todd is Paramount in US and WB elsewhere

Its the same situation in the UK, loads of films available in the US but not UK. I can import some, but Fox titles I can't.

The problem even when you import the movies regeion coding is diffrent you have to have a blu-ray player with region A & B to get benifit of both worlds.

Is there any logical solution for this?

And by the way is Beowulf coming to blu-ray in the US market cuz i saw it in amazone UK but in US its available in HD-DVD?

well some movies are region free mostly warner titles and the best way is just wait. and yes beowulf is hd-dvd in america but paramount who owns the right in the u.s. just switched to Blu-ray so we should get it sometime later this year probably this fall or maybe summer.

I Agree With Region Codes For New Titles But No Way There Should Be Region Codes On Back Catalogue Titles So Fox Take Note. And Another Thing Take The Die Hard Collection In The US You Guys Got All 4 Movies We In The UK Got Three Of Them I Know Die Hard 3 Is By Disney But All Movie studios Need To Get There Act Together If Blu-Ray Is Going To Win against DVD.

To find out which company has distribution rights, go to IMDB.com:
1. Type the name of the movie and select it
2. Go to the bottom of the screen and click on Company Credits

The following is the company credits for Transformers:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418279/companycredits
