if i conect my ps3 via hdmi to my older tv that only have dvi, you could upscale the movies or only hdmi to hdmi?

youll be fine. just wouldnt be able to get the uncompressed sounds from blu. i use hdmi to receiver then receiver to tv (hdmi/dvi) so i may enjoy those sounds. for non surround events i use component and analog to tv and still get a hd pic

I think some of the older DVI connections were not HDCP compliant, so you may run into a problem possibly.

Your old tv must support HDCP under DVI. Some TVs/monitiors support DVI w/o HDCP. In those cases, the connection is not allowed.
