USA Alice and spin-off Flo

Have done a thread and post search in DVD Movies prior to starting this thread (there were no existing threads, but a couple of posts briefly mentioning Alice and Flo (one in the Step by Step thread and the other in the Perfect Strangers thread).

I've looked before at the possibility of starting collecting the WAC's manufactured-on-demand DVD season sets of long-running sitcom Alice (as well as the short-lived spin-off Flo), but dismissed the idea. However, I think what made me re-consider getting at least the first couple of seasons of Alice, was seeing actor Vic Tayback in a sixth season episode of drama series Medical Center recently (a very good episode called "The Prisoners", whose guest cast also included James Wainwright and Rita Moreno).

Haven't checked it out yet, but I found out recently about a book published by BearManor Media called Alice: Life Behind the Counter in Mel's Greasy Spoon (A Guide to the Feature Film, the TV series and More).

Below is the small front cover artwork for the nine seasons of Alice (linking to their Blu-ray.com listing pages), as well as the small front cover artwork for short-lived spin-off Flo (linking to it's Blu-ray.com listing page), underneath the year they were released by the WAC:

Have updated the starter post of this thread with the small front cover artwork linking to the Blu-ray.com database listing pages for all nine seasons of Alice, as well as the Blu-ray.com database listing page for the short-lived spin-off Flo.

I have all nine season of Alice & the entire series collection of Flo on dvd. I have enjoyed these shows ever since they aired on TV and haven't regretted collecting them at all.

GO FOR IT! They are really well done.

Appreciate the reply. I'm definitely going to get at least the first two seasons of Alice (either from Deep Discount when they have one of their discount code offers, or from Moviezyng when they (hopefully) do a sale like they did a few weeks ago with WAC Blu-ray film titles).

I have the whole set but what is frustrating is half of them are pressed and half burned.(couldn’t find all pressed)

Reading last night about the Warner Brothers complete series DVD releases of Spenser: for Hire and La Femme Nikita reminded me of that rumoured or planned complete series DVD boxset of long-running sitcom Alice.

To date, have still only purchased the first season and was going to get further seasons as well as the short-lived spin-off Flo, until I read on here about the possible complete series DVD boxset release of Alice (I doubt now you can still get the separate season sets and the Flo DVD set with pressed discs).

If Warner (Archive) does re-release the show in its entirely in a box set and provided the discs are replicated, I'll gladly buy it for mom (one of her favorite shows).

I would likely do the same myself because when the rumour came about that a complete series set was happening, at that point I'd only purchased season 1 of Alice (not pressed discs in my copy, but I wasn't too surprised by that as the Warner Archive Collection had released it several years prior). If like for example La Femme Nikita, Mayberry R.F.D. and Spenser: for Hire, it'll probably be released on DVD by Warner Brothers' main home video line or WB Entertainment.

I was partly interested in seeing the sitcom Alice because I've only seen Vic Tayback in serious roles (guest star roles on Hawaii Five-O and The Streets of San Francisco and horror film Blood and Lace).

What's even more ironic is that the show is based off of Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore which is a drama.

I've been hoping the Warner Archive release that on Blu-ray. Are there issues preventing a release? I know the BFI did a DVD-only release - having checked the database here it was nearly eight and a half years ago. There have been other DVD releases, but no Blu-ray release.

Chances are if it's not on Blu-ray, they're either working on a 4K restoration, trying to find the original camera negative, or will get to it once they get another budget.

I THINK I remember hearing Warner might've sublicensed it to Criterion (less that was wishful thinking by someone), can anyone else confirm?
