Stargate Ultimate Edition

Just noticed the Ultimate Edition is going for £9.93 on Amazon, is Optimums transfer any good?
Is it the same transfer used in their original release?

Seems a pretty favourable review, I've ordered it. I'd have kicked myself later if I didn't order at that price.
I ordered it from a third party seller and Pushing Daisies from Amazons "preferred merchant", wonder which one will win the race

Hopefully its not a complete balls up like the optimum flash gordon blu-ray which had no special features and was a different transfer to the American release which had the special features and had superior picture quality without the strange hazeiness.

Hey guys I was thinking about get this as it's under £6, I'm a huge Stargate fan but a legendary tightwad... Can anyone tell me do the deleted scenes that were edited back into the movie match the rest of the film quality wise? I remember that on DVD they stuck out quite badly.

If they don't match do you have both versions of the film on the disk (just to confirm, I think it's mentioned in the post)?

Are you sure its the Ultimate Edition that is less than £6, or is it the Special Edition?

Well the Ultimate Edition includes the theatrical cut and extended cut via seamless branching, I think I opted for the theatrical when I watched it so can't really comment of how much the added scenes stick out or not.
The transfer is a little dark, but I found boosting the backlight a couple of levels on my TV fixed it.
It has "over 4 hours of extra content" and the slipcover is really nice too.

Yes it's the UE. Although Play and ASDA have it down as a SE with the UE cover. I'm confused now.

Update: find-dvd.co.uk has one release at the end of March 2011 the other 2008 I assume the 2010 is the UA?

Play.com has the Ultimate Edition for £7.99 for those of you who don't trust Asda...

Play.com have it down as a SE as well not the UE pictured hopefully it's an error and buyers from both ASDA and Play.com will get the UE.

True, it's listed as the SE version, but the details further down the page are for the UE version - 7.1 DTS-HD etc... Curious!

Just to let people know ASDA are shipping the UE instead of the Special Edition, just make sure the release date is 2010 and not 2008. Here's the link.

Stargate Ultimate Edtition

It came with a slip as well.
