The Deadly Spawn 4K UHD (1983) from Synapse Films - Blu-ray Forum

Don May Jr. revealed some info during the latest Synapse podcast about the upcoming release of The Deadly Spawn.

* He confirmed a 4K release.
* The disc is finished and the check discs are at the replicator right now.
* David M. worked on the authoring
* The disc is around 90GB in size
* There will be a limited edition with a book, cards, etc
* It will feature 2 different aspect ratios (4:3 or 1:66)
* Packed with features, like 3 commentary tracks

So it should release later this year? Maybe?

Can't wait!!!! I wonder if I'll even buy a deluxe edition. I always do but I have the mediabook which I dig the art, so just throw the discs in that. I guess time will tell

I have to be honest, I thought it was even longer ago than that. Perhaps I'm confusing the date with the release of the Millennium Edition Blu-ray in February 2012. The wait has nothing on Distribxpix's Inside Little Oral Annie, which was announced by Distribxpix in 2010 and not released until 2024 by Vinegar Syndrome / Mélusine.

The labels and studios love anniversaries. I think Synapse should wait till the ten year anniversary of the initial announcement to release it. It ain’t that far anyway.
