You want the crossover on the sub to be set to its highest setting (like 150Hz, probably)

That will allow the receiver to get an accurate reading on the sub and set its own internal crossover.

Just looked at your sub.

Keep Phase at 0.
Set low pass to 120 (max)
Set volume to 5.

After it's calibrated don't touch the settings.

If you don't notice any bass where there should be lots, try setting the phase to 180.

When I did the audyessey setup for my onkyo 805, it lowered the sub horribly.. i dont know why. The audyessey setup actually ruined my system.. had to get rid of it. I have no idea why, it had the center channel -10db @_@ And a bunch of other very questionable settings.

Must have been a bad, bad, bad mic

After using the built-in receiver calibration, it is always a good idea to use an SPL meter to double check the settings.

There is thread on Audio calibration. It has a section on subwoofer placement and calibration.

It could be your mic but it might also be your preference.

You'd be surprised how many people feel that a calibrated room doesn't sound right.

Accurate doesn't always match what people like to hear.
