Default New This Week: 12/05/2006 Edition

It's a new week and a mix of titles are out... what are YOU buying? Are you buying at Amazon to try and turn the tide? Or are you buying more at retail where it has more of an impact?

I don't know if I will buy this week. I bought at amazon superman I and II, I might pass this week. By the way, on Amazon when I ordered superman I was on back ordered so they gave me a future date. Later I saw it was back in stock but my ship date didnt change. So I cancelled that ordered and made a new one and it shipped the next day. Something to be aware about.

Getting "Rocky" and "From Hell". Still ordering from Amazon, although I'm frustrated with them at the moment. Also, getting the "Discovery Atlas: China" Blu-Ray disc (directly from the Discovery Channel Store). i just got a noticed that it shipped Dec. 1st.

From Hell and Christmas vacation for me. If From Hell is actually delayed, I might purchase Rocky, but I didn't include it in my vote.

I've had From Hell on order at Amazon for a while now, but that's it. I'm not really interested in anything else. I saw The Architect on HDNet the other night, and it was good enough, but not the sort of thing that I would really purchase to watch again. I do have another Magnolia title on order at Amazon, however, One Last Thing. Hopefully that will finally show up some time soon.

It is "From Hell" only this week. It will ship together with "Miami Vice" (Unrated, standard definition DVD). As I am in Europe I have to buy from an online store and amazon.com is the cheapest taking into account the additional 10% discount you get on blu-ray purchases and their generally cheaper shipping charges.

I ordered Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story from Amazon. Even though they release on 12/5, they are not shipping until 12/10. What is the deal? Is that the way they always do things?

the same thing happened for my superman copy. i think they give you a latest ship date in case supplies are running low. superman wasn't even supposed to ship fo me until 12/1 but i received it on 12/1.

Anyone have any additional info about 'From Hell'? It has been taken off from pre-sale by Amazon and DVD Empire, but Fox's website and store still list it as being released tomorrow?

I pre-ordered Rocky from Amazon and it says they are preparing to ship it, so hopefully that means it will go out today.

My Amazon order is showing that my copy of From Hell will ship on the 6th. Why, when the release date is the 5th? Anyway, it's still shipping, so....

Keep us updated. Maybe these places just sold out already, and they can't mark it as backordered before the actual release.
