DVD's limits finally hurting 360 games sales?

Let me just get this out, I'm still an Xbox 360 supporter for game play (as I said earlier, I can't tolerate the PS controller ), but the writing on the wall is getting bigger as to whether or not MS can hold on for another few years for a new console...

I was recommended by a friend to get the new release, Lost Odyssey. I'm not an RPG fan by any means (FPS all the way!), but he said this was a must have...

So, I stroll down to my local Gamestop and check out the box. Looks cool, interesting to see the man that created FF made this (Last FF game I played was FFXI on the 360)... Get to talking with the manager who is now an acquaintance since I've been there so often... He tells me it's a great game, but I'll be swapping discs at least FOUR TIMES !

To my surprise, Lost Odyssey, due to size, requires 4 friggin' DVD's! He also told me all about the MLB2K8 fiasco, but in the end it isn't that big of deal since I'll just download what I can use when I get it... The big deal is that Lost Odyssey is not selling as well as people though it would because many of the feelings on the internet are that people refuse to buy a game that comes on more than one disc.

Surprisingly, the feeling on the Xbox message boards is one of disgust... Even the die hard 360 players are jumping on MS because "changing discs is so last generation." So, with the talk that some people are considering the jump to the PS3, will MS see the light and do something about it or just stay stagnant and force game makers to decide to either release multiple disc games on the 360 OR go exclusive to the PS3 where they will have the luxury of using one disc?

I personally have a feeling that sales on games that come out on multiple discs will suffer, and maybe MS will take notice, but I doubt it...

If it wasn't for the controller, and the fact that the MLG circuit does not use any PS3 games, I would probably go to PS3, especially since games I currently play (Rainbow Six, COD4, DMC4) are on both platforms.

But man, this DVD size limit is going to hurt MS.... They might say that the HDDVD loss wasn't huge, but when you could have had games coming out on one disc instead of multiple or optional downloads if you just chose a HDM format (Either BD or DUD), you could have had many happy people. Now the populace is getting angry and they have no way to fix the situation, so the PS3 might just kill the 360 this year . At least I have a BD player (BDP1400), but I might just have to buy a new one if what I think will happen actually goes down....
