Default Eye Toy Usage on PS3 (?)

I have my old PS2 Eye Toy hooked up to my PS3 through the standard USB. Burnout Paradise utilizes it just fine. However the downlaodable games from the Playstation Network do not recognize it. Any ideas or do I need the PS3 Eye to play these?

PS - I did check the PS3 Camera Settings and initially it flashes on the screen that no camera is recognized but almost immediately, so quickly that you can barely read the first note, it sees the camera and it starts working. Not sure if I'm just getting lucky that it works w/ Burnout or what.

yeah, sounds right for working with video or picture. But I think all those games require something special from the PS3 eye that can put your motions into the game.

I think it's only crucial in games like Eye of Judgement, Trials of Topoq, and maybe Aquatopia so far. I think it will become a lot more important (for you to have the PS Eye) as time progresses.

its a matter of FPS that the camera can take that makes it useless with games like trials of topoq... in order to provide accurate detection it needs to take far more frames than the eyetoy can take

If I remember on the minimum resolution the pseye takes a whopping 120 FPS video capture? thats obscene.
