I suppose we have to proceed with caution but on July 5th look for
From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter Blu-ray Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood Blu-ray Hellraiser: Hellworld (part 8 for those of you still playing) Last edited by Deciazulado; 05-19-2011 at 07:40 AM. |

Three more passes. If Wal-Mart ever has a $5 for BD it will consist of Alliance and Echo Bridge titles.

there's really no point in worrying about anything.
we all know exactly what the quality will be--the only question is will they be totally awful or just downright dreadful? will they really suck or only be a completely pathetic? Last edited by Arkadin; 05-19-2011 at 02:06 AM. |

If I were a betting man, I'd say Hellworld will be servicable, but nothing to rave about, Don't Be A Menace.... will be bad, and FDTD 3 will be shovel-ware (to borrow the gaming term). That said, if you're a fan, you may as well get 'em as the likelyhood that any of these titles will get better treatment anywhere, anytime soon is about the same as winning the lotto, getting struck by lightening, while getting hit by a train all at the same time (glad I can live w/o these discs, but you fans are fukt).

OrlandoEastwood, you certainly do have the right to spend money on whatever you choose. I just wish you would reconsider patronizing Echo Bridge. And, for the record, I also like B-movies. I just wish they would get better treatment from EB. For me, the Blu-Ray format should be the LAST word on a film for home video consumption. We've been getting some truly stellar releases from other studios and company's. I've written EB and got zero response. Echo Bridge just dosen't seem to get it. Or want to get it. I do hope you give it some thought...Thanks.

I actually like From Dusk Till Dawn 3.
![]() Again, it's sad to state, that even with a weak second wave as announced (more will come), Echo Bridge won't treat them properly. I'm surprised Lionsgate didn't take Don't Be A Menace... as I feel that would've been a big catalog seller. |

....or Halloween CoMM/H20? Considering they've released a number of second (or third) tier genre films like The Monster Squad, My Bloody Valentine, The Phantom, Cujo, and The Relic, it's hard to believe they wouldn't see the value in getting their hands on a couple of well established slashers from one of the big four franchises of 80s horror and the first Rodriguez/Tarintino collaberation. ![]() |

here is a list of what Miramax titles they have released and ones that are coming. The current bluray crop is at the bottom of the page and all others are DVD releases. But one can wonder which ones of the Horror genre will get blu releases.

I count over 50 I would if they featured typical unmolested encodes from even average recent masters in their intended aspect ratio, lossless 5.1 audio and carrying over any extras. One can only hope there are some people involved with the companies that realize there is still similar profit to be had with these titles by even doing a halfway decent job (these aren't titles that require restoration, expensive clean-up). Unless Echo Bridge (and/or Miramax) step up their game immediately, I fear nothing but poor masters with additional incompetent tinkering, 2.0 tracks, modified aspect ratio releases, double features crammed on a BD-25 (because the goal should be to make HD DVD's 15 GB discs look even less obtuse?).. what else am I missing? I sincerely hope the future yields some glimmer of hope from the Miramax, Dimension Films, and Hollywood/Touchstone Pictures catalog. Devaluing the Miramax brand in one quick swoop and making it synonymous with $1 public domain type companies is probably not the way to go for Miramax or Echo Bridge for these titles. |
