Default How to download on Playstation3 Portal?

Like the title says.
I'm in the Featured items, demos, videos
but I don't know how to download them.
I highlight the box and click the X, start, PS button (every button) but nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?
I wished this was easier.

Thank you.

ps3 is a wonderful godly system btw

Did you read the instruction manual?

It behaves pretty much the same as a web browser. The one strange quirk is if you hover the pointer over an icon with the analogue stick, the first press of X centers the pointer on the icon and the second press launches it. If you use the dpad to navigate this doesn't happen because the pointer's already centered.

Hey yes of course, the icon does "zoom" or expand. But then hitting the x, nothing happens, no matter how many times i hit x.

Then I get another problem when I try to hit X too many times: An error has occured you have been signed out of the Network.

Hey and I did read the instruction manuals, theres 2 of them. How would I not have known that the icon gets bigger when hovered over?
I can easily use all the rest of the GUI, no problems, play video, blu ray, games and look at photos.

Thanks, but I was busy wiping your smart @ss with it.
Sony tech support doesn't know whats going on at the moment
and I've been on the phone for a while, its not as simple as you'd like to think.

Are you giving it some time after hitting X on something? Mine doesn't open instantly a lot of times and I have to wait a few seconds. Maybe you're just trying to click it too quickly.

I hope this isn't too obvious have you tryed rebooting your ps3, and ensuring you are using the latest firmware.

Sorry none of us know your technical skill with the ps3, all we know is what you tell us, then we have to base our advice on what we think you know, and don't know.

Understand that none of us can read your mind, but we shall certainly try.

-Thank you
- I have the latest 2.10 Firmware
- I understand things take a while to respond to commands
but waiting 30 minutes after waking up from a nap on my bed waiting for the icon do something is long enough.
-I'm still getting the Network error, saying I've signed out
when i open the portal site. If I'm signed out, I cannot open any of the items right?
-hmm working other websites like youtube work just fine so i'm unsure if outbound is a problem unless its specific to this one site.

Playstation Portal is the main page of the internet browser it has all kinds of things in there.

I just went to the ps3 store and downloading works just fine for demos and trailers
on that page. Wonder whats going on for the portal, is the purpose of the portal only for advertising what is available? (and thus the icons are inactive?)

Hmm, you should be going to the Playstation Network rather than using the browser to download games, trailers, etc. I never got that to work through the regular browser for me, but works like a charm in the Playstation Network/Store.

THANK YOU. I knew I shouldn't have gotten a smart ass remark from Incredipinoy.
You were kind to tell your story about the page. It doesn't work for you either, so I will use ps network

Yeah, I'm not sure what Sony was thinking with that portal that you can't download anything from. IMO, they should have made the home page an information page that instructed users to register on the Playstation Network and go to the Playstation Store to download stuff.

I wonder why the Sony tech didn't know this?
I was about to call him back but Its irritating when you're on hold so much.

I've never been able to get that thing to work either. But as far as I know, I'm not missing anything. I'd be annoyed if it has some exclusive trailers/demos etc, but as far as I know, I'm getting everything I need through PSN and any other webpage I can find on the web.

Same here, thought you meant the store. Prolly what the tech did heh.

The portal is just a "lookey here" place for the most part. I think you can actually get it dl some stuff on the PSP version, but.
