ps3 making disk drive noises, what shall i do? - Blu-ray Forum

hi, my ps3 is starting to make sort of a grinding noise when a disk is in. its not to loud but you can hear it. it doen't effect gameplay or scratch disks. but im wondering if i should phone up sony in case it gets worse and get another or just leave it.
also will i still get a new 60gb model, a used one or a 40gb model.
im from UK if it makes any diffrence

Grinding noise? You sure it didn't sound like this before?

no, it started a few days ago.

i had same problem turns out it was teh cabnit my ps3 was on was vibrating try adjusting it or putting on anotehr surface

After an extended downtime, my PS3 is doing this now to. While playing R&C, the drive is louder than I remember. So loud that it is clearly audible over the background noise.

Time to call Sony?

Edit: Played it a while and it went away. Guess it got a bit dusty.
