I fully believe we’ll be getting a Daredevil announcement when Echo starts shooting since most of the Daredevil cast is supposed to be showing up in that. Basically there’d be no way to keep it secret if their roles are substantial. However in regards to this story, why is David Hayter considered a knowledgeable source in the matter? Seems he’s just speculating.

It could be that he came to them wanting to do a Daredevil film but Marvel was "Nah, we got one in the pipes right now". Didn't the same thing happen with Werewolf By Night and Kevin Smith?

I hope they can keep a movie feeling similar to the Netflix series. I doubt it being the MCU and all. Either way this is fantastic news.

My theory behind all this is that Marvel needs Daredevil front and center more than ever. They’ve lost too many of their a-list heroes, and Daredevil is the only one they can quickly shove into the MCU compared to Fantastic Four and X-Men, which need way more groundwork laid.

I also believe it’ll be a film because as the stars of the show have even stated, how many more seasons could they do? Daredevil has a lot of great stories from the comics that haven’t been covered, but they could quickly wear things too thin over more seasons. Also with how much the Marvel Disney+ slate keeps growing, Marvel doesn’t need to have Daredevil front and center in what’s become their playground for testing lesser known characters.

Daredevil as a film is pretty much guaranteed to be a big box office success and likely would cost considerably less than most of the films with world ending storylines. The character also has great crossover potential with Spider-Man and other big heroes. So that’s more attention on the film side when interest has been waning a bit lately and more profit to be earned. Seems like a no brainer to me, but this is just my two cents, we’ll see what happens.

Netflix's Daredevil is one of the best shows of the last twenty years. Hopefully, the MCU version doesn't stray too far away from what made THAT version of the character so great.

I would hope they don't change much. As a massive Daredevil fan, that show was pretty much perfect (apart from some stumbling with the Hand and overall padding that plagued the Netflix shows). But they nailed the tone, the characters, and the casting.

I was really anxious to see what happened next with Bullseye and hope if this is a soft reboot, the MCU can just give us a fully formed Bullseye and set him loose. But I'd definitely want them to keep as many of the actors as they can, no reason to recast, especially if they're keeping Charlie Cox.
