Home Open Beta Starts 24th March in Japan?

The stars continue to align… Following the dubious 20th March countdown on an unknown website, a somewhat reliable Japanese news source has revealed that the Home Open Beta will begin on March 24th in Japan.

Jonnyram, as he is known on the Neogaf Forums, says in carefully chosen words “Home open beta starts 24 March in Japan. Sorry if old.”

It’s very possible that the original countdown is to signify the end of the closed beta and the beginning of a worldwide open beta for Sony’s Home. Though Jonnyram is trusted on the infamous Neogaf forums, his reliability is unknown to us, so take his words with a pinch of salt.

With that said, we can say that US open Beta will be here real soon.

Beat me to it. Was about to post but didnt because didnt know if this was already being discussed. I went to go use the search engine. I am one of the members that uses it. Then i saw your new thread. I just hope we get one in the states as well

I suspect we'll get something around March-April. Hopefully we'll get a final release SOMETIME before Q3. I am tired of waiting, especially since Home was supposed to be out in Fall 2007!

Looks like we may see Home this year. I'm wondering if they'll hold off the official release until the crucial holiday shopping period.

Why would they hold off to winter? People will have already decided what to spend there money on..

Because by fixing it up over the coming months and "officially" announcing it then, they will get lots of press and it will sway buyers during a very crucial buying season.

Remember, you've already bought. You're not the top priority. Their main mission now is to sell systems. It's a business decision.

So, they can open beta up to make you (and I) happy while holding off some last minute extras and the official gold tag until it will count the most.

But.. im already happy dancing around the bubble machines.

I would think they would pick a new group instead of letting the folks from
the closed test continue.. but aye if they let me continue on with the open
beta as well that would be just cool .
