Default Forbes takes a biased jab at PS3

http://tech.msn.com/products/article...mentid=6284058

Is it just me or does MSN pick articles biased.
Although they didn't write it, they could be backing it.

I think the article is a bit too biased, and clearly understates the Ps3's abilities. While it mentions 3.2GHZ cpu and high definition Dvd playback,
it words it so it doesn't say its the most advanced CPU, with 8-cores (1 reserved) and "CORRECTION" a blu Ray player (Not HD DVD).

While the article states that gamers don't care about graphics and so forth it takes it to the extreme and should differentiate between markets of casual and hardcore gamers.
People Do care about intense graphics and sound. Its just the majority of casual soccer Moms do not. That is the article writers mistake
that notes that the Ps3 is a face flop third place when it trumped Xbox 360 in sales in January.

If you look at the game Star wars FORCE UNLEASHED you will see how integral graphics are part of gameplay. Without these graphic physics, the game wouldn't be even possible. The physics make the game itself and a system marketed for family like Wii just doesn't cut it for things like that. Its a different market.

Not directed in anyway to the OP. I'm sorry but why even care about what Forbes has to say (Forbes=full of it) (MSN=M$ & there full of it too )

They are really taking swipes at the PS3 even though the Xbox 360 is aimed at the same market graphically. Who knew the Wii would take off the way it did? I'm sure Nintendo was surprised!

PS3 has outsold Xbox for date from release.

PS3 has outsold 360 for about 8 weeks straight now...

7 million of the 360's lead came out before the PS3 was available...

The writer is an idiot.

I never read a FORBES. IF it is this bad, I'm never reading it

I mention this article because many people say the same thing as they just did, but I still support PS3 because the system was so awesome.

Is it just me or is it hard to look at playing a wii game on a quality LCD tv?
Looks like shit and the novelty of the controller got old.
I thought playing Mario with 2 different contrllers was actually awkward.

I'm not sure if getting a Wii in the near future is for me, but I'd buy one just to entertain guests, especially chicks and maybe for a few games. I don't hate it but it surely doesn't have power of my ps3.

The Wii is doing so well because as a sales angle you cant hit home more then with peoples kids. Same with why blu ray was going to win...Disney=Kids. Im telling you one thing, a product that hits kids it will be 10 x the revenue that anything else will.

And the Wii has Mario.

I'm in my 30s. I got the NES the day it came out and I grew up with Mario and friends. I love him to this day. There's that nostalgia feeling.

All Nintendo has to do is throw those characters in a game and it generates interest. Mario Pie Eating, Mario Horse Riding, Mario Button Clicking, or whatever.

In my house, the kids gravitate toward the Wii, because they love Mario (Mario Party especially).

Forbes sucks!!!
I've read several articles in the past that all were very biased. And it seems like whoever writes them does NOT do the proper "footwork" to show full specs.

Wow. What a piece of trash. Basing assumptions off numbers. No mention that the PS3 costs close to 3 times more than the Wii or what demographic is buying the product.

The PS3 is a true gaming machine. The Wii is a gimmick.

I'm pretty sure not all, but most of the tools that actually read Forbes couldn't give a single shit about gaming consoles. And when are people going to learn that MSNBC or MSN or miscellaneous financial magazines are the LAST PLACES ON THE PLANET you should ever go to get technology, gadget, or gaming information.

Truer words have never been spoken. The Wii is an impulse buy/parent magnet. I know from first hand experience. My Wii has been collecting dust since I beat Super Mario Galaxy in early December. It hasn't seen an ounce of play time since, compared to my PS3 being active for at least 3-4 hours a day. I really wish that (and I doubt I'm alone) I would have saved the $250 for the upcoming BD's and PS3 games.

he does make a couple good points. the wii IS innovative and taking gaming in an uncoventional direction, and there's alot more to making a good game than realistic HD graphics.
but come on michael noer you stupid ass, the PS3 is FAR from a flop.

Well, the Wii remote is innovative. The actual console is a glorified Game Cube. There are no technical achievements or raw prowess or engineering feats behind the Wii. Nintendo is getting praise because they did good business and made serious cash.

And I guess Michael's definition of flop is selling 10.25 million consoles and counting.

This is the problem though. The Wii remote provides the potential for innovation and unusual gaming.

Right now that potential is almost wholly unrealized. Most games right now boil down to holding a controller in one hand and a light gun in the other.

Lair went further than 95% of Wii games did towards being innovative, and people hated the game for it.
