Default Why are HDTVs way ahead of pc LCD monitors

As the title says.

Before the year 2001, the computer monitor was the king of high end display and it was expected to remain that way. For years and years PC monitors were always higher res, higher clarity and better blacks. PC had HD way before any TV and also progressive scan.

To LCD pc monitors defense yeah it has 2560x1600 res..but otherwise it seems to be much less refined than say an Xbr5 or 81 samsung.

Fast forward today,
I can't help but notice my 2407WFP-HC 24" Dell way behind something great like the flagship Sony, Samsung and Pioneer Flat panels with much superior blacks, viewing angles, motion and 120hz technologies. Those current 22" TN panels are flying off the shelves too fast and are getting literally "GLOWING REVIEWS" lol, .. I puke at the negative blue white level and grayish blacks, terrible viewing angles. Why do people give them 5 stars? Just go to newegg/amazon and see.

Aren't there a ton of demand for FPS gamers who want 4ms and 120hz ? 4 ms on a LCD PVA panel, with .001 black levels and 120hz, a FPS gamer could kill (literally) for that kind of panel.

Why can't they make 22-24" Plasma panels?

My only guess is money. There is more money to be gained selling to consumers buying TVs for the whole family than 22" inch Monitors, and the PC monitor has been neglected down to cheap ass TN panels.

Btw, my NEC 22" Diamondtron used to be the King, it can show phenomenal black levels but even though its spyder calibrated to 6500k I can't stand its dingy whites (can't tell beige sometimes vs. snow). The Dell resolves at least 40% more detail and has superior colors so I love it more despite its crappy blacks.
I still got the NEC I just pull it out once in a while for the heck of benchmarking my other LCDs I buy. BTW, the NEC can't do 100% black . Taking a picture and loading into pshop with no flash, I'm getting about 98%.
