Default I'm Ready for Freddy

Okay gang. I am ready for Freddy -- Freddy Kruger, that is. The original Nightmare On Elm Street is quite old. Johnny Depp was around 16 years old in that film. It might not transfer well to BD, but I still hope that one day Freddy makes it to 1080p. Jason vs Freddy should look fine on Blu. I like that one alot.

(Note to the forum police: I did a search on Freddy before creating this post)

I'm ready too. They're some of New Line's most popular movies, so they will be released sooner or later.

I don't know,

I bought the original for half a dollar from columbia house (part of the freddy series or something) and didn't like it anymore so I sold it back to Gamestop.

I'm sure it would be better on Blu but I don't know if that series still works for me.

Is there ever going to be a Freddy vs. Jason sequel? Anyone got info or rumors?

It's in developmental hell.

It will probably never happen now, especially since both franchises will be "rebooted" soon with new movies.

Maybe they could do Freddy vs the Fantastic 4 -- or something really different.

The original Freddy is a classic that I would buy in Blu-ray. But the rest of the series sucks.

Great movie and would love to add to the collection. I would bet that they will probably wait until the remake comes to theaters though.

This thread title reminded me of the song "Are you ready for Freddy" by The Fat Boys and Freddy.

I believe a prequel to A Nightmare On Elm Street is in the works. About Freddy, before he was a nightmare menace, about when he was a child killer in real life. Also a remake for 2010 link below

What?! Dude what about Dream Warriors?! That movie rules!! It has so much. The return of Nancy, the introduction of dream powers, Freddy's origin, KINCAID!!

This one is arguably the best in the series.

And don't get me started on how awesome Freddy vs. Jason is. That movie was too good!

Now they are green lighting a remake.

It was a fun movie. It had just the right amount of gore and camp. You can tell Ronny Yu was a fan of both series. Some of the deaths in that film were some of my favorite in both films. And that's like 75% of the enjoyment.
I went to see Robert Englund speak at one of my local campuses. He talked about how much fun it was to do the film, and mentioned what was holding up the sequel to Freddy vs. Jason.
According to him the 3rd film was going to be Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash. (Which is now a comic)
Apparently New Line and Sam Raimi's camp couldn't agree on who would be the victor in the film. Slowed things down. Last I checked they're back to the drawing board.

As a horror buff, I'd love to have a series box set similar to what we saw on DVD. Believe it or not, the NOES box set was my very first DVD, and man was it impressive for the time.

Unfortunately, now that Bob Shaye resigned and New Line has been officially absorbed into Warner Bros, we might not see it for a while. The absolute earliest would be to coincide with the release of Platinum Dune's relaunch of the series. I'll gladly eat crow, though.
