Default Weirdsville

I watched Weirdsville today on DVD. It is a very funny Canadian movie directed by Allan Moyle, who also directed Empire Records. I would liken it to a Jay and Silent Bob style comedy, though a bit zanier, I think. If you like that type of comedy, then it is a must see. I would not wait for it to come to Blu-ray.

I remember seeing the trailer a while ago. It seemed pretty interesting, I'll take a look. Unfortunately, it's a Magnolia Pictures release. They've only put one film on Blu (and on HD-DVD) and that's The Host. I haven't heard anything about any more releases. They have HD transfers of all of their stuff (they're owned by Marc Cuban, owner of HDNet & HDNet movies) and their films are on HDNet all the time. Ah well. I'd love to have some of their stuff on Blu.

My bad... just checked and Magnolia also released District B13 on both formats. I'd love to see the following from Magnolia on Blu-Ray...

The Signal
Boarding Gate
Shrooms
Cashback
Dynamite Warrior
Exiled
Severance
Tears of the Black Tiger
The Pusher Trilogy

Shrooms looks pretty good from the trailer. I just put that one in my Netflix queue today.

Yeah, I have a Thai DVD of Shrooms. It was on HDNet recently, too. I would upgrade to Blu if Magnolia released it that way.
