Default Fox announce Mr & Mrs Smith, Dodgeball and Ice Age for March

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/news...u-ray_Wave/389

Quote:
Expanding their ever-growing Blu-ray library, Fox Home Entertainment will unveil four new catalog titles on March 13.

Leading the pack will be a BD-50 dual-layer release of the Bragelina action blockbuster 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith.' The disc will boast a 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 transfer and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 track, plus multiple audio commentaries, deleted scenes, a featurette and trailers.

Fox will also debut three additional BD-25 single-layer Blu-ray titles on March 13: 'Ice Age,' 'Dodgeball' and 'Commando,' the latter which has been rescheduled from its originally announced January release berth.
Hooray for Fox - I can't say I was thrilled with Mr. & Mrs. Smith, but I'll definitely be picking up Dodgeball and Ice Age. No doubt I'll give M&M Smith another look on Blu-ray; with AVC/MPEG-4, DTS-MA and a BD50 it's sure to be great.

There are also 44 Blu-ray discs announced for 2007, only 10 HD DVDs.

Oh man, do you mean this war is going to transition from endless repeated debates about replication costs, post surveys and what paid "analysts" have to say, into something about HD movie discs?

C'mon, who they heck is interested in reading about that?!

Q1/Q2 are going to be awesome.

Although not my favourite Arnold movie, I will be looking forward to seeing how nicely Fox clean this up for Blu-ray.

I've outgrown the 80s Ahnold except for The Terminator. Dodgeball should be a fun movie. M&MSmith is da bomb! The soundtrack rocks! It helps that it is funny too.

I was thinking about that earlier... The soundtrack sounded decent when I watched it on HBO-HD, I can't imagine Full bitrate DTS. Hopefully by then the PS3 will be able to decode DTS-HD MA.

Commando, Dodgeball, Mr&Mrs Smith all must haves for me. Ice Age I have the DTheater so they will need to offer me something I can't resist for me to replace it.

These are all definites for me outside of Commando. I picked up Dodgeball when it was released on DVD as DVD Empire had it for cheap and found it to be a movie that I can watch many times and get new gags each and every time. My wife hates it, but it makes me laugh like nothing else.

Good stuff all around!

Damn, my Apocalist is too stuffed to even add one more title or two! (It's reached (and passed) it's 10,000 characters limit several times this last week and I've been playing with deleting characters and adding them back one by one (then it lets me add more than 10,000 ). I guess I'll have to split it!

So Mr. and Mrs. Smith will be the second (or third?) movie to use the BD-50 + MPEG-4 AVC combination?

Great.
