It's good to see them continuing the terminator series, but who will play the next terminator? Who they pick to play can make it or break it.

I liked the pick when I first read about it, and I think the movie will be good w/ the same core writers, but McG is the director, which just sucks. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to get the Charlie's Angels director, but they should be shot.

Doesn't it take place in the future? If so, there will probably be a LOT of terminators.

I suspect rather than one key anti-hero, there will a swarm (a la Aliens).

Well, I don't have high hopes for T4, but Bale is much better acter than Stahl, especially for the role of John Conor.
It'll be harder to find another Terminator though. According to Cameron, Ahnuld is the only terminator. Although, Robert Patrick was excellent in T2 as T1000.

a new terminator will have to be a fresh face. viewers will have to think of him as the terminator and only the terminator. it won't work with any actors who have prominent roles in prior films.

sadly, they'll probably cast someone like the rock and ruin the film.

I don't have high hopes for this new Terminator movie. I'm not a fan of "McG" and his directing style. On top of that I don't know what else they can do with the storyline. Even the last Terminator movie, T3, was pretty mediocre.

I think of the Terminator movies the same way I do the Alien franchise: the first two movies were great. Everything else sucked and I try to consider that they just don't exist.

BTW: Michael Biehn as a terminator? Are you kidding me? That guy is getting too old for such a role (and never was a big enough guy for that part anyway). He's gotta be in his 50's by now.

OH GOD NO! WHY CHRISTIAN BALE I HAVE SO MUCH MORE RESPECT FOR YOU. WARNER BROS. HAS KILLED TERMINATOR!! LET IT DIE!!! If they are going to do another terminator they should atleast give Cameron creative control over his creation. Because this new show on fox is just terrible.

Probably because he wouldn't play the military commander John very well, and because they want to reboot the franchise. Bale will be excellent. Maybe they can do that X-Men 3 trick on Michael Biehn though, because we obviously want to see him sent back

Bale is a very good actor and just as important he knows how to pick scripts (most of the time). Glad the franchise is still strong enough to attract an A-list actor. Coincidentally I just bought T2 on Blu-ray.
