So far 34.99 is the highest Ive seen. These titles I would be willing to pay top dollar for if they were released....

Transformers
Schindler's List
Amadeus
Batman Begins
The Thing
Tron
Saving Private Ryan
Ghostbusters I &II
Platoon
Braveheart
Star Wars
Pulp Fiction

Would only pay that much for a trilogy or set of some sort. The most I've paid for a single movie blu-ray was 24.99 for Cars a while back at Best Buy. I've been going through Amazon or other online retailers ever since.

$35 is out of my range. I have spent $30 on one new release that I really wanted, and $25 on a couple movies that I also really wanted. But other then that the rest of my collection has been bought for $15-$22ish. Average s definatly under 20. Obviously excluding TV shows.

I don't see myself ever paying $35 for a movie. If I want to see it that bad I will rent it, and wait for the price to come down.

Generally speaking I think my limit would be $30, anything more I can wait for the price to come down.

I paid 35 for CEOT3K

Id pay 35 for:

Star Wars
Jurassic Park
The Day the Earth Stood Still
Lion King
Aladdin
Peter Pan
The Jungle Book
The Green Mile
Indiana Jones
Shawshank
Lawrence of Arabia

This is assuming I'm geting something more than a normal blu-ray though. No barebones releases and top notch quality is a must for me to pay this much. I found CEOT3K well wroth what I paid for it.

Only "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair" since it's basically 2 volumes in one and I wouldn't have to buy 2 separate volumes on Blu whenever they are released. I love lot of the films released by Criterion but one of the reason I don't own any is the price tag. Once it is over $30+ I wait for the price to come down.

None.

I wouldn't pay over $30 for a movie unless it was the "Super Duper Special Edition Deluxe Version" that has every version of the film, plus every documentary and special feature ever made for the film.

The quality of the transfer would also have to be to one of the best ever done for that film with an included uncompressed/lossless audio track.

Having the above attributes also helps to cut down on the double dip factor from the studios as well.

Of course when Criterion collection films start coming out, there will be some that I would like to get and I'm sure I will have to make some exceptions to those rules above...

Blade Runner is a great example of what they should be doing for pricing of movies. It is a really nice package with an excellent transfer, excellent PQ and AQ, multiple versions of the movie, and a wealth of bonus features and documentaries. All of this for under $30 at most places online.

I think it is one of the best values on blu-ray right now for what you get. I only hope that it will help set the standard for what people expect and want at that price range ($27-35).

Amazon.com ensures I would never have to pay more than 27.95 for my new titles,

And I semi-agree with the original list.

Price isn't the determining factor on whether or not I purchase a movie. So, I guess my answer is, I'd be willing to pay $35 for any movie that I want. Besides, I've probably paid that much for several already.

Agreed, and I'd do the same if Grindhouse was released in its proper form on a BD 50 with all the trailers. Other than that, the only single movie I'd spend $35 on would be Braveheart. Fortunately, after Paramount eventually releases it on blu-ray, I'll pre-order from Amazon for $20!

I would absolutely, never pay $34.99 for a Blu-ray disc. There is always a place that has a better price than $35. Best buy is famous for having movies at that price, which is why I never walk in there unless they have something on sale, like this week for example! I am giving Best Buy some of my money this week, but certainly not $35 per...
