No, it will not be coming to Blu-Ray at that time.

The reason? I'm guessing because it was a bomb at the box office.

From the subject line, I thought this was going to be about a wife who says, 'You're buying another Blu-ray movie over my dead body'.

I wouldn't be so totally quick to say no.
Warner did say that pretty much anything that comes out on dvd after april will be on blu.
Not only that but alot of box office "bombs" make their money back at home so it is in their best interest to have it on both.

I really cant see why they wouldn't give this a Blu-ray release. I will never buy it or even rent it, but to deny it to the few who may want it, well I do not think that is right. One Missed Call, while it performed better, is far less deserving of a Blu-ray title IMO, but still, every new release should definitely get a hi def treatment as well.

commendable but lemme ask you this... judging by the niche market that blu-ray still is, do you think the amount of rentals/sales in the bd format for this film merits the cost to press this movie? i dont think that its in warners best interest to press it for such a small market. IMO the return (sales and rentals of the bd) on the investment wouldnt pay off at this particular moment in blurays career.

look how failure to launch performed! perfect example. somewhere on these threads it said something like in the 10000s for sales. that just isnt worth it... again, IMO

The true can be said, however, of many films that completely bombed at the box office and became huge cult films due to subsequent TV airings and video release. Two that pop immediately to mind are "Its a Wonderful Life" and "A Christmas Story" and that is just in the holiday category. Similarly, you have the tv Show, Firefly, which lasted only half a season, and apparently did not get many viewers for many reasons (episodes being aired out of order, a time slot that changed on a weekly basis, no advertising whatsoever, etc. etc. etc.) Turned huge profits when the season was released on video, prompting Universal to purchase the movie rights and make Serenity. There is no way to know if a title will do well on video until after it is released. I did not know this movie (Over Her dead body) was already out of theaters. I watched the trailer and it seemed like it could have been funny, if predictable. I would rent it. But my point is that often, even good movies dont last very long in theaters, so box office returns arent always reliable. Frequently I find myself saying "That isnt out anymore? must not have been good". Then I go rent the video and like it. Movies cost more to take a family to nowadays than simply buying the video when its released where you can watch it in the comfort of your own home, often in a better viewing environment than a theater provides.

Well Warner isn't releasing Nancy Drew on Blu and that did pretty good didn't it? I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't release Over Her Dead Body.

I can't argue with you there.

Maybe because IKWKM was a Sony movie and they had to release a certain number of titles? I don't know.
