Default Blu Demo Discs..

Does anyone know where to pick up blu ray demo discs? Like the ones they have in stores showing beautiful women walking along beaches and the likes? Or are these HD DUD's showing off the HD tv's?

I really like the newest demo disk they have been showing at Best Buy with the split screens and POC3. I would like to know where to get that one - might convert a few of the friends that say "I can't tell a difference between regular DVD".

You have to be a retailer of some sort and you can get any of the Point of Purchase promotional material directly from their site.

I don't have the link off hand but they have a website for retailers to order FREE point of purchase promo materials from the Demo disc, fact sheets to the table cards with the winter offer etc.

However they will ask for your store location, info and such to make sure your legit as to not waste BDA funds.

It is nice demo material though. I hope they make one of the new CES video up on the Blu-ray disc site.

Most of what you are talking about is on a Hard Drive unit that is issued out to dealers to show. It is a special box with pre-loaded 1080p content they want shown. It is updated from time to time but not with BD, rather with data files.

I have one of those for sale/trade if you are interested, or for anybody else here, by the way - the Experience Blu Vol. 1 Demo Disc.

I was able to download some demo clips from the newsgroups, and they are the manufacturer demo clips.

I have some from Panasonic, Samsung, and Philips.

They are mostly transport stream files (*.ts), and I just loaded them up in Nero vision (Nero 8), converted them to AVCHD, burned them to a normal dvd, and play them on my PS3.

Is that the one I keep seeing at the Best Buy with Batman Begins playing on a PS3 and a Samsung setup just like mine! Pisses me off everytime I go by there and see the 'Batman Begins, coming soon to Blu-Ray'! Warner, get off your duffs and Deliver on this already!! We need this and the Matrix Ultimate set on Blu-Ray ASAP! ..and the 'Real Ultimate Matrix Set' with a 1080p version of The Animatrix included with it!

Man I need to lay off the Starbucks.

They should go grass-roots and offer these out to consumers to demo to potential buyers. Much like the Spiderman3 demo disk you could get at Best Buy - just give them away.

I believe transport stream files will play in a standalone player as long as you author them as a Blu-Ray disc but burned onto a regular DVD. I believe that Ulead and Vegas support this feature.

BTW- When you convert to AVCHD don't you re-encode so in effect you are changing the quality of the demo material?

I have friends who work at BB and CC and they always slip me some demo discs from various groups like samsung and sony. Some discs are pretty cool.

I want the one where they are in Italy I think. And they show them beautiful women and olive trees and red fish heads in a market. Anybody know what I'm talking about? Haha I seen it at BJs and Circuit City on the Sony TVs. I tried getting CC to throw it in when i bought my XBR but they said it was promo use only and they couldn't
