Default will this LCD coming to the US?

Is this going to replace the W3000 or XBR5?

I mean.. Is this LCD coming to the US

http://www.ifiwasamillionaire.com/ca...ravia-engine-2

"Sony Japan just announced their Bravia F-series of thin LCDs. We’re talking 46-inches with just 7.4-cm of non-protruding, wall-mountable goodness when these go live in Japan on March 25th. Available in 1080p resolution ¥400,000 (about $3,700) 46-inch and ¥290,000 ($2,685) 40-inch configurations or a ¥200,000 ($1,852) 32-inch model offering 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution. Each set features Sony’s 120Hz Motion Flow tech, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, 24p True Cinema mode, Bravia Sync HDMI control, Bravia Engine 2 processing, and a bevy of jacks including 3x HDMI, 2x S-Video, 3x composite and yes, Ethernet. Sony’s 2.4GHz Bravia Link remote allows the controller to be used without pointing it directly at the set. More Sony sets on the way in a few."

PS: Can some moderator fix the title of this topic with the correct grammar?

That one is coming to the U.S. If I remember correctly that is one of Sony's new "W" series. The XBR will still be around but the largest one of those they will be making is either a 42" or a 46".

u reallllllyyyy need to read up on whats going on.

the joint venture withs harp is to build a new facility with wont be up and running till 2009...

So as of now sharp has nothing to do with sony. So sharp is sitll no where near as good as the sony stuff.

This LCD has 3000:1 of on screen contrast ratio.

I hope all the new models to come with this impressive contrast. I mean the W series are actually coming with 1800:1, that is disgusting.

Here is Sony's 2008 lineup. That tv looks very similar to the Z series.

They start rolling into retailers later this month/early next month.

Me too!!! I just saw a demo and OLED is the future (even better than LaserTV). OLED does for TV hardware what Blu-ray does for DVD video. Together, Blu-ray connected to OLED is pure Heaven. It's incredible the performance gain over the XBR4/5 series. Think about it 1,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio.

Yeah but what are hte prices of OLED TV's? And how many companies are actually selling them?

Maybe its just me but I've HEARD about OLED but I haven't actually seen one in action at any retail store...

I'm willing to give it a shot if its truly worth the price and the picture is SIGNIFICANTLY better than LCD.

in 5 or 6 years they will be all the rage. Until then, stick with plasma (panny or pio)

it looks like I might be waiting a bit longer before I jump into the HDTV ownership. I think I'll wait ntil these hit the market and see what wort of price range they will be in before I make my purchase. I'd love to get one of the Z line.
