Default Moderators need to relax on the search thread

Ok, now I am a little pissed. I just did a forum post asking people if they were dissapointed in the slow nature and title schedules that studios are releasing. I get one response from a "Super Moderator" who tells me I need to use the search function because there are a lot of threads on this and he/she closed the forum. For the record i did a search of the terms dissapointed, studio, titles, and not one of the 500 threads were related to my specific question, they all dealt with dissapointment in specific titles or in their hardware. I think it is time that these so called moderators stop acting out on their power trips and let open conversation continue on a particular topic. Maybe you dont have control in your real lives, or constantly picked on, and this is your venue to feel authoritative, but for those who use this site to gather true sentiment of fellow blu-ray fans and educate themselves off of the feedback that others on this site provide, could you please stop acting all high and mighty and take a deep breath and realize life isn't so bad and the world will not end if a topic is repeated, even though unless it involves the transformers or blades of glory it usually isnt an identical topic anyway.

The mods see a lot of stuff that we don't so just let it go. It's nothing to be upset about...sometimes I get told stuff and I don't feel it's right, but they don't have too much time to investigate certain issues and it may be quicker for them just to go with their gut feeling. I don't get very many good responses from using the search function either, but don't get too upset. It's easier to just move on.

Default Yes, but...

I've often used the search function with disappointing results. (no offense developers). I can see why people (especially newer members) go posting new threads. If a mod is going to close a thread, I would hope that they include links when possible, and that those who get closed don't take it personal...

This isn't the end of the world, it's just the internet. Let's all play nice together...

Im with you to come extent.

The mods ban people WAY to easily when the problem (whatever it may be) could be fixed with a simple warning in a private message.
If they continue to do whatever they are doing, THEN they should be SUSPENDED.
When they get back - if they do it again (doughtful unless its a troll) - Then ban them all you want.
The banning part of this site is insane. I remember one guy who had been here over a year with 2000 or so posts got banned for getting in an argument with sombody. What the hell is that?

As for closing threads, I think they're pretty good at doing that. I've never had a thread of mine closed.

I guess im just good.

Oh. And the search button definately does suck. It searches for words in the post. I could make an entire thread about the ps3 WITHOUT saying the word "ps3" once.
"THIS CONSOLE IS AMAZING!"

I completely agree there. But theres really nothing you can do about it... If your thread gets closed... you know... deal with it.

Yep, welcome to Blu-ray.com.

I'm not a fan of "Use the search" replies on ANY forum, as I am of the mindset that discussion forums exist for DISCUSSION.

But, I also realize that it is their forum to run how they see fit. If I want to change the rules, I can go make my own forum. But I wont, so I stick with abiding by the rules. It's simply useless to resist.

You have to remember that they run the site and will run however they want. They do a great job, this forum is the best of all format forums. You have to realize if you don't like the way they run things then don't come on the site or start your own.

i tihnk when you all use the search function you need to be more general than you are. instead of searching dissapointed. search "slow release" and don't search thread titles. there may not be a dedicated thread for that topic but there are certainly hundreds of threads where its been discussed.

You don't see a lot of what we can see. If someone who you think doesn't deserve to be banned comes up with having secondary accounts with the same registered IP and e-mail, it's an immediate suspension, no questions asked.
