Blu-Ray and Star Wars - Blu-ray Forum

Now with the announcement of 80 + movies to be released on HD-DVD. Blu- Ray Needs to get 20th century fox to sign on and to release movies in this format and the first release needs to be a super blockbuster and there's only one set that would do it and that's Star Wars. Can you imagine how many players and movies they would sell in beautiful HD

Indeed Blu-ray needs to be competitive with their initial selection of movies. They could make my day by releasing the entire (and recently remastered for HD) Bond series on BD this fall. I'm not a Star Wars fan at all but needless to say if they released that series on BD right away it'd do wonders to help the format and kill off HD-DUD. I think we'll see a nice list of Blu-ray titles within the next month or so. They ought to do it now to kill off any momentum HD-DUD may be getting with their list.

I believe that George Lucas has already stated that a Blu-Ray version is on the cards come 2007. Will probably release a HD-DVD version if the format is successful.

I seriously doubt it will be released in 2007.

yeah we're waiting......but it is possible to have it only take up 10gb of a hddvr if you recorded it on the anniversary from hbo
